fermenting white slime on ferment

I made some ferment with 10% salt and it went fine, but it was over the top salty. So I made some more with about 6% salt and it was fermenting fine. One jar of jalapeno is still doing fine, but the habanero got a white slime on the top. So I scooped it off and put a bag of water in it to keep the mash below the liquid line. Now the white slime has formed on the liquid line. It isn't fuzzy mold though.
Any thoughts?

I've had a couple make the kahm yeast on top that RM spoke of.  It has not been a problem.  I try for 2 to 3 % salt by weight.  I've read that it is too little salt the reason it forms.  I'm not sure though.  Your salt quantity suggests that it is some other reason.  It, (Kahm) removes fairly easy though.

Good luck.
Mike
