Why didn't my plant grow....!!!???

Can you post a picture of your plant?  Its color and growth pattern might reveal some of the reasons it's not a happy bunny.  (Kinda like Beavis and Butthead here... ;) )
 
I'd upgrade to a larger pot with a better soil, something along the lines of Fox farms ocean forest or similar grade soil. 
 
With window light you will most likely never get much production... more just along the lines of keeping it alive. Maybe look into purchasing a growlight for your indoor winter months.
