Woody's 2012

Didn't have time to keep a log last year so here's to trying in 2012!

Started all my seeds last year in our spare bedroom closet. Now that room has been taken over by our newest daughter. Finally won over my wife and I get a corner of the closet again! Time to get rolling now...

Pics to follow

Welcome to the club. 2012 is the year of the pepper, or something. Good Luck with your grow, look forward to your pics.

Matt

Congrats, on the newest family member.....you have a unique set-up.
Are you able to lower the lighting gizmos, or do the plant trays get lowered?
Either way, the light level stays the same.
What type of peppers are you growing........I haven't started my southwest favorites yet........but I bet your growing some goods one's for that added kick to a good bowl of "Classic Texas Chili"

Good luck, and post some photos when the plants are up.......a picture tells a story!

First tray planted
5ba59e59.jpg

Tomatoes= Box Car Willie, Big Rainbow, Black Krim, also Purple Tomatillo

Peppers= Pequin, Orange Hab, Yellow 7, Fatalli, Bhut Jolokia

Some spinach and pomegranates too just because.

Planting next month= Big Jim, Serrano, Jalamundo, yellow Cayenne, cilantro.

The lights stay. I raised the first tray last year and didn't the other two. I couldn't tell a difference so I'll probably just roll with it as is this year. There are 8 1600lumen 6500k bulbs in it now. A month before they go outside I trade one bulb for a 2700k each week till its 4 and 4. They did well last year so I'll repeat that again.

Off the top of my head.....the area inside the shelf is 32L x 21H x 16D. Taking into account the height of the tray and where the lights mount the actual distance from the light to soil is 16 1/2 in

Did your seedlings get a little leggy last year since you didn't adjust the height of the lights?

Best of luck to you Woody and congrats on the new daughter.

Ya, knives for ID =) Helps give em an edge lol

None of my plants got leggy whatsoever.

Thanks for the congrats too! New babies of all sorts around my place.
