Hello all,
I thought I'd make my first post here! I have a slight, but not serious, problem with some of my Naga Jolokia and Lemon Drop plants I have growing under lights. All in all they're extreamly healthy and growing fast, and have just begun to produce some lovely peppers after a period of flowering. Unfortunately I am having a few problems with some of the leaves, which are developing yellow patches before eventually dying and dropping off.
I've also noticed on the underside tiny bumps. I've spoke to a few people locally. A farm shop suggested it may be mites or aphids, while a hydroponics store proposed that it may simply be salt deposits after overfeeding (which I do once a week with a NPK 15-15-15 solution). I examined the bumps under a microscope and found them to be a solid, bubble-like crystal as opposed to anything living, so I figured maybe Enema is a likely cause - especially since the humidity in the area is fairly high and I tend to water daily if the soil looks dry.
As for solutions I figured the best way to treat it is to remove the afflicted leaves and flush the soil before letting it dry completely. I just wanted to check that I had the right idea since I'm still fairly new to this whole growing thing!
