AJI LEMONS ROCK!!!!

Just ate my first one off the plant yesturday. It had a little heat but died down really fast (Like: Hi, I'm a medium heat, oh, gtg! Bye!) and fantastic flavor. Really did have that lemon flavor. This is the first Baccatum I've ever eaten too!

YES! They do rock, and I just had my first homegrown pod this year. What a flavor huh? I think I'm growing more baccatums next year.

Are Aji Lemons and Lemon Drops the same thing? If so I have my first lemon drop pod forming with tons more to follow it seems :)

Glad to hear that they actually taste really good. I've got a few growing right now (thanks Nova!), but they were late starts and I won't see production from them until at least next year. Well that is if they can survive my ineptitude .

I plan on overwintering the little guys and am hoping for some decent production out of them. I'm also hoping that they'll add a bit of lemon flavor to some of the Indian dishes I cook. There are a few that would probably be great if they had a bit of citrus flavor.

I know they're both Peruvian and Baccatum. Not sure what the differences are though. I also think the baccatum is a unique breed (it's a mixed breed) defining the Aji peppers. Don't quote me on that but it sounds like the two are quite similar. Can't comment on heat differences though.

I grew some of the lemon drop peppers a couple of years ago, and like katrina said, they tasted kinda perfumey to me, not much like lemon at all...anyway they had good heat...

I agree with you AP perfumey/soapy decent heat but not one of my Fave 5

Good pepper, nice heat, but not too much. I didn't taste the lemon, maybe a little citrus. I need to munch a few more.
