pepper powder + ?

I have a little bit of power. Some that I made and some hotter stuff that was given to me. I would like to make up some spice mixes. Anyone have any good recipes for spice mixes?

I was trying to think up an asian mix and have not tried yet, but this is what I was thinking:

Star anise
Ginger
Shallot (dried)
Cinnomon
Garlic
Pepper of choice

Have not made it, but thought something along those lines would be asian-ish.

Any help would be awesome. I love to mess around in the kitchen and this new heat is exciting. Oh the possibilities.

Thanks,

Rymerpt

Yea "play around with it" is what I always do. Just thought in a wanted forum i'd get some blend ideas that maybe I had not thought of.

Orange is a good idea. Dried mango even.

So, what do you use?

cloves, white peppercorns and lemon grass are also used allot in Chinese cooking and might make a nice addition to your spices. I've been cooking Chinese food on my carbon steel woks since the 70's when I bought them in SF Chinatown.
