smoking Finally got me a smoker

After years of periodically checking out this model and drooling i finally treated myself to a smoker.
(wow, what a great feeling to finally do something you've postponed, pushed backed for a long while)

For my second attempt (First was a nice cut of prime rib), i've tried several meats to see what works best.

I've got, Fillet and duck breast, whole chicken, short rib and rib eye

All sliced up for serving

First impression or bigget surprise was the chicken, came out succulant and tender.
the Fillet was a bit dry, i'll skip this cut next time.
Short rib and rib eye were great

Congrats on the new smoker. Is it a gasser or wood/coal fired?

The meats look great. How was the duck?

Thanks, it's a wood/coal smoker.  i used citrus coal and cherry wood chips.
the duck was fantastic, good flavor and juicy with the fat strip on top.
smoked duck breast is super pricy here and is used as a bacon/ham replacement so it's great to know i can do better than the commercial brands you find at the deli
