I think I'll go through the entries tonight, and make a list of hyperlinks to the exact post that seems like the one to use for the poll, and post it into the thread late tonight of tomorrow so that people can either a) ask for a different post to be used, edit their post, or ask that that post not be included (for people who have lots of entries) ...

Sound about right?

I can't do much about the prizes until we're done, because the destination country for the prizes is important ... so that will be figured out post-poll ...

It feels a little weird to be idle, like I should be doing something ... but there's really nothing to do yet except prepare to make the poll.

Anyone have anything exciting planned for today or tomorrow - as it would relate to the contest? ...

I am going to beach tomorrow. Supposed to be cold and rainy. Yay! Am a little lost on this. Many great pics ans dishes, but almost forget what I've seen. Except those beef ribs.

Holey shit! 34 entries??

Can I make a suggestion? If it were me I would have a first round vote and eliminate all but 8-10 entries, then have a finale.

Of course a free for all works as well!

I don't mind considering any way or organizing the voting, but expound a little further on why that would be an improvement over not doing so ...

What would be interesting with a poll so large is multiple choice.

No one is going to select all 34 but people will select their faves and it should even out nicely... just an idea. Or keep it as is. I don't see a problem except people not being able to vote with too many close entries. Like I said multiple could be cool.

I know you don't want categories in the poll because there is one prize.

Actually, there's 5 prizes ... my prize, a prize from JHP, a prize from Texas Creek, and I sponsored two more: one from Pex, and one from LDHS ... the last two that I sponsored are CONUS only.

SL brought up donating to AnySoldier - which I think is awesome, if someone wants to.

I made mine available to an expat member - and Bumper was kind enough to offer to help me with shipping for that prize (and I said I wouldn't take him up on that unless it was surprisingly expensive) ...

I'm open to whatever will be best - excited to see some prize boxes next.

I did the footwork of collecting the links above (and just updated it), but I have no problem relinquishing control for the polling ...

The most hassle free is one poll and the top (number of prizes) winners get the prizes. If a place is a tie that's two prizes and takes away from the place under it.

Multiple choice though could be interesting and make for fast voting. I'd open the poll and browse each entry and tick off what I really liked. Then the voting would be done. No thinking about the 34 I just looked at to pick one.

Categories could get messy. Pork, beef, unique, whatever. A lot of work.

I just think that 34 entries would mean a low vote count per entry. Ties would have a high probability. I am sure the top entries would still shine through though.

I like the multiple choice idea. Can a limit be set to how many items a person can choose?

Multiple Choice actually sounds pretty fitting, I agree.

If it's not more work for you Grant, I think giving everyone 3-5 votes(5 prizes) would probably make it easier to vote as the Boss said, and would probably also make ties less frequent too.
