CAPCOMS COCOA GROW 2018

Yes, I am so interested in putting 2017 behind that I am looking forward to 2018 this much.
I will be throwing a knuckle ball going into 2018.
I am procuring seed from reliable sources only and will be implementing various isolation methods as to continue a sound seed stock for future seasons.
I am also going to visit several chili head bros beginning this fall and spend some quality time talking the shop we all enjoy.
I will also be looking into some new nitrification processes as the one I have been using the past two years has let me down big time.
I will also be cutting back for the first time on my grow quantities. If I end up with 50 plants, that will be a lot! And all plants will be grown in 15 gal pots minimum.

Starting to formulate my list with,

Judys Brown Moruga
Bhutlah DM
Bhutlah SM
CPR from 2017
Chocolate Reaper
Chocolate Primo
Kracken Scorpion
7Pot Burgundy (the only non chocolate)
Chocolate MaddBalls
Chocolate Bhut
Chocolate Devils Tongue
Chocolate BBG
Chocolate Scorpion
Chocolate 7 Pot
Chocolate Fatalii
And that's just off the top of my head, I am sure more additions will follow.

6-2 18 Update

All container plants are in place til the shade tent comes down and reorganization occurs. Still lots of work ahead, but lots of rewards I hope.

Below are the last of my starts that are intended for an inground grow. the 2 plants to the right were my only over winters a choc 7 pot Primo and a 7 pot Burgundy. What is so significant about the 7 pot Burgundy is the next pic. This plant grew into a uncoursed 360° loop as a seedling. I intend to bonchi it.

I have ventured this year into a few other things, one of them being AACT. I started my 1st tea almost 72 hours ago and was beginning to think it was a wash. I contacted my Chili Bro and made some modifications and my tea went from this.

to this.

All containers got a good feeding so now we wait and see. Will probably start another batch on Wed for next weekend.

Tea must be plant safe as there must have been some seeds in with my worm castings, see pic below.

What did you do to fix your tea probs? I'm on my second batch and the first time one bucket did the foam and the other didn't-this ones shaping up to be less foam as well.. What activated it?

More molasses 1 cup and more aphrodites extract 1/2 cup. Not enough food available to feed the masses.

Hmm OK. I added 4TBSP to 20 gal to start along with humic acid powder, vermicasting 6 cups, 1 cup kelp meal, and I'm sure I'm leaving something out. What were your initial and final specs of what u added? I also have fish emulsion but haven't added it yet was not sure if it's something to put in at the end or what..

Yeah, your gonna need more sugar. I think I ended up with a total of 2 cups of various sugars for a 15 gal batch. 4 tbsp will get them up but that's all. Mine went almostv72 hrs before it took off. And then only after the addition of more molassas.

Cool man, yeah I just went out after seeing your post and replying and hitting it up with about 2/3cup more molasses and 3tbsp of alfalfa meal as well as 2 cups of composted yard trimmings to hopefully catch more bennies than just vermicast alone..

It's funny, I thought this pump was a Lil overkill and figured it was justified because I could use it for DWC buckets and such outside as well as aact and now I'm wishing I got a bigger one!lol! Maybe I'll exchange it for the bigger one on Amazon! 951 China GPH=probably 400 real gallons. Gotta get da big boy, and rig me up a pvc brew rig instead of ghetto style. Have it brewing in a big tote!

Tonight they are getting watered,    Greatly.

I have 20 gals of RO water for a huge nectar feeding as soon as the rains stop. and an equal size batch for compost tea a day there after.

I did a complete weed and feed yesterday. Today weather permitting, I will give everything a nutrient booster shot with NFTG. The extreme hot weather had my in ground plants slightly wilting at the time of their tea party. It didn't take long for them to perk right back up. It has been rather wet here lately and that has affected the feeding schedule due to container saturation.

Update 8-12 18. After a long and trying spring and early summer, the grow is starting to respond positively. Starting to pump calcium, aminos

A hand full of Choc Primos and 7 Pot Burgundies.

I have no idea what this one is and or how it got into my 7 Pot Burgundy seed stock. Is it posible being the seed came from open pollinated plants that this cross is expressing more of the doner genetics?

These pics are 2 weeks old and the plants are already twice as big. My 15 gal plants are putting out some of the hottest pods I have ever grown.

The following group of plant are the bumper crop I started when I had issues in Feb and didn't know if my start would survive. They have surpassed the crop they were to replace.

the following two pics was supposed to be a 7 pot burgundy. they were from my OP seed stock but I have no idea what they crossed with from last year. I did not grow any purple varieties.

Thank God I started a bumper crop when I did. Looking back when I had the issues with the Alaskan fish fertilizer early in my "18" grow I did not realize just how a major setback would have such a positive impact til tonight.

Several of the varieties I grew did not produce the desired outcomes in my main grow. How disappointing.

However, I got exactly what I was looking for in the bumper crop. Striving for a couple years now for chocolate Primos and Chocolate Reapers, well I will just let pics speak for themselves.

Looks like  you had a very nice season, Jeff!

The chocolate varieties are especially nice. Prodded
me to add a chocolate Bhut Jolokia to my grow next
year!

Enjoy those powders!
