Alright guys and gals, here's a new food thread for us all. One that will kick some of our asses into gear.

Post what you plan to cook and have it all worked out (or are working it out), but haven't made it yet. Describe it as you see it, and that will be the inspiration for you too cook it. When you finally do, go ahead and quote it with your masterpiece below. Boom!

And to the peanut gallery, feel free to egg us on :P

Spicy a must.

I will start.

There's this Alsation pizza/flatbread called a tarte flambee. I've had it many times. Like a rustic cracker crust pizza. The base is often creme fraiche. The one I want to make is...
Tarte Flambee
Creme fraiche base
Seared bay scallops
A mild nutty melting cheese, fontina or havarti
Fresh dill
Saffron-infused oil drizzle
A tangy hot sauce (or spice up the oil)

flammekueche is good stuff. First time I tried it was in old port Montreal, when my wife and I were on our honeymoon.

There is a franchise brewpub restaurant that does them really well, plus has decent beer.

3 brewers/Les 3 brasseurs. Originally from France but they have opened up a tonne of Canadian locations recently.

Turducken.

I've always wanted to make one. I think this Thanksgiving it's going down. My wife's company gives us a free turkey every year, and I plan on making a turducken from scratch, and smoking it.

Niiiiice arroz con pollo, SMDS!

Thanks, the sweetness from the corn and carrots worked great. Plus the bit of crunch. Both were just barely more than heated up in the last 15min of cook time. I gave it a good dusting of my panca powder blend at serving too. I really like the flavor and it needed just a tiny bit more heat.

I don't have a menu.

I have a dream.

An epiphany.

A momentary lapse of reason.

Some would say...

A psychotic episode.

Because.

I see 'thangs.

Like carnitas.

Duck confit.

A Texaficated loco moco.

A suitcase full of blow.

A duffel bag full of money.

2 hot redhead Vegas strippers.

And then....

I have a moment of clarity.

This pic.

Half hour ago.

Aliens have stolen my kitchen.

Good luck probing those shitty tile counter tops you took.

Sucka's.

Granite guys come tomorrow.

And then I have to install the new sink.

The faucet.

Garbage disposal.

The new dishwasher.

Crawl on my belly like a reptile.

Finish the walls.

And start on the floors.

Until then....

I got nothing.

Except this....

Happily married?

Doing some home improvements together?

Want to stay married?

STFU!

And do what she says.

Because.

Love the one you're with.

Great looking Arroz con pollo SMDS!

This weekend we'll be doing some sort of roast pork with starch and a vegetable.

Shortly after that I want to do some dolmas and a general meze type grazing table for another occasion.

There's going to be a birthday fiesta in a few weeks, I've been asked to smoke a butt or two (and maybe some more fish).

Lots to come!  ;)
