Nice!!! Well, it appears we are officially in full swing!

Any latecomers want to join? Have a few packs left before I send the rest to Chris Fowler.

What's the genesis of this pepper? Any info on the parents or process? Reading about the sugar rush stripey on fatalii.net gives me the impression of deceit and bullshit. Further breeding program here and further breeding program there...yadda yadda. Sounds good to anyone below a rudimentary stage of gardening. Are these dumb luck also?

I'm a possible latecomer, I'm just doing some container math to see if I can make it fit/work. I'd also have to piggy back on someone (or ask a friend/relative in the states to forward to me), unless @Pepper-Guru you're back in town and we can make paypal work.

Yes dumb luck as well. Will need further selections to be stable for the trait. No “breeding programs” needed for this one, as no one bred anything.
Matt Layton on Facebook contacted me earlier last season and sent them to me for help with selections. Was supposed to be normal Peppa Peach. Had stripes. I grew out a few trays and selected the best stripes. More digital camo look to the stripes.

Agreed to send Fowler whatever I could produce, but my selection was made too late in the year and I produced very little seed. So, these get divided into 5 seed count bags and I’ll let the contestants try and help Chris out.
@skullbiker also found the stipey variation in his 2021 grow (https://thehotpepper.com/threads/skullbikers-fun-with-peppers-in-2021-glog.74543/post-1716459). Some better pictures here: post #291.

I was growing these Sugar Rush Red Striped a few years before fatalli started selling. I got these from a guy in PLC community on Google plus. He said they were a variant from a Sugar Rush Red that he bought from Pepper Donkey. fatalli has nothing to do with this variant. I get annoyed every time I see the “Peach” or “stripey” in the name. I might still have some F2 seeds somewhere.

So we have @Simcows and @BarbarianFires also interested and have contacted @rickvm for international sends. Anyone else want to participate and agree to the contest's rules?

Pretty simple stuff:
1: Agree to SASBE requirements (international people get with someone other than me that is willing to courier them)
2: Agree to germ as many as you want, but only pick one plant as your contender to be grown however you want.
3: Agree to give constant updates on your plant's harvest entries via photographs/video of your harvest, and the scale reading of your fruit weight totals. (Tared for holding vessel weight)
4: Jan 1 we crown the new King and the King's loot is to be forthcoming.

5: Bonus/Runner Up potential this year... Best In Stripes.
6: Send Chris Fowler some bulk seed from the spoils of war.

Simple stuff.

Maybe a stupid guestion, but...the fruit weight totals is from 1 weigh-in ? or in total from the whole season ?

and another question - are we supposed to keep this plant entirely separate from our other peppers to prevent hybridization? Or just let whatever happens happen
