SKULLBIKER 2023, LESS FOR ME

I thought about not doing a GLOG this year but have decided to "just do it". My grow will be much less this year with no super hots planted(although there are a few previous plants still going). Most new plants will be Jalapenos and various pheno's of PeppaPeach as those are the ones that I consume massive amounts of.
This old pick of days gone by will be my lead pic for this years GLOG. I have several new ones taken since Jan 1, and I will be posting them as I get time until I am caught up.

I'll start by saying I've had many new pests/bugs come along since the hurricanes went through last fall. Maybe someone has experienced what I have going on now with about four small plants, it's new to me. Check this photo and see if you recognize the damage.

I was checking my containers with Sugar Rush Red plants and saw this pod coming along nicely and looking to be the correct pheno.

Then I looked at another plant and it looks lie once again a change in phenotypes as this does not look like Sugar Rush Red! 😳

I guess we'll have to see what these turn out to be.
 
Don't you love nature? 😀

It might be anthracnose, caused by a fungus. Check the internet on how to diagnose it. If it is anthracnose, get rid of the leaves that have the holes in them. The spores of the fungus can spread from there to other parts of the plant or the soil.

Well, I think that it's not a fungus. No black or bad spots yesterday and the leaves were perfect on that one. BUT, I believe I have found the cause. Late this afternoon I was looking over some of my larger plants and found a few small snails on one of them. After a quick DuckDuckGo search I find that is the damage my plant has. The plants and surface of the soil in the pots has been dusted with DE. I will keep an eye on them. Thanks anyway for the quick responses. 👍

Glad you could identify the problem quickly 👍 The problem will probably be "escargot" soon.
 
When I saw your pic I thought "slugs". That's what I've experienced in the past with that kinda damage. Glad you solved it!

And the pods have BITE! I’d have to look back to be sure but I think it’s going on 3 years now, and they grow pretty much 12 months a year here. That was one of the two that were about 10 feet tall and last summer I cut them back to the outside dimensions of the cages. Then the hurricanes followed by the bugs. This one is coming back pretty good, the other one looks pretty bleak.
 
Yeah that Brainstrain is amazing!
It keeps producing year round, or does it go into dormant periods during the "cooler" periods (if you can ever call Florida chilly :rolleyes:)

Most of the pepper plants that survive the pests produce year around although much less production in winter months with the cooler temps and short days.
 
I finally picked the ripe pods off of the "old" 7 Pot Bubblegum plant, there are still many pods on the plant that didn't look quite red enough. The before pic.

Here's the previously stalled out "new" 7 Pot Bubblegum plant from post #24 that has finally decided to start growing.

This container houses the largest of the PeppaPeach plants that were started last fall, about 4 1/2 feet and rising.

And I'll end this post with a pest pic, the Lubers are growing fast now. I've been squishing 2 or 3 a day lately. They are plant eating machines.
