How old are you?

Just a small observation I have made during my time of interest with chillies...
How old is everybody here? I've heard and understood chinense species is a very acquired taste, and such taste is usually only respected in older age, such as olives, malt whiskey ect... There are many select tastes that don't develop until older age, and I believe Chillies are one of them. I am simply out to determine how frequently this will not be the case as I have adapted myself to many of these things - one of my qualities :)

I am 23 years old, how about you?

Just turned 30 :woohoo:

I've been into chilies since I was 14, and started drinking Scotch around the same time. (Not with the intent of intoxication)

Pretty sure I'm the odd one out, guess traveling around the world as a kid expanded my palate.

Hmmm, I don't know, I've loved olives and habs as long as I can remember and malt whiskey since my teens. My tolerance for spice definitely grows with age though.

32 now going on 72 (at least that's how I feel when I get up most mornings) :(

I think there are more factors than age that need to be considered, community being one of them. Eating hot peppers is frequently a regional machismo thing - you're not really "a man" until you can eat such-and-such hot pepper and take it, for example. Bragging rights, of course, heavily weigh into this. Also, hot peppers are just part of the diet in some regions, while totally absent in others. Since I grew up in Texas, my own kids were introduced to hot peppers early. We then moved to an area where hot peppers almost don't exist and my kids lost some heat tolerance with them not being so readily available, but they still do like at least some heat - just not as much as I do. So age MAY be somewhat influential, but keep in mind there are other things, as well.

well my wife always yells at me telling me I am not 4 any more so I must be 5 and 3/4.

Seems like yesterday i was getting into clubs and pubs at the age of 15. I had to start shaving at 14!
Now i've got two boys that are 7 and 3, time flies. I started enjoying the taste of olives around 12 but the taste of a good single malt didnt get me until about 27.

My liver is well preserved (in alcohol) so it would be around 57 i would say
I'm 31 but still that feel like i am 21, age is only a number to me.
