Guys feel free to start another thread for comparing different calibers or why this one is better than that one.

I already own a .357 Prehensile so I don't need another one. I don't anticipate getting into any shootouts so the speed of getting back on target isn't a main concern. I want a .45 so I asked if anyone had any experience with any.

sorry patrick, my quote was more towards gnslnger's quote...guess I should of quoted him. & wasnt trying to change your mind for calibers, also wasnt the 1st to go off topic/derail your subject.
BTW great AR ya bought there IMO everyone should onw at least one! if you want to go hunting with it just buy a 6.8 or 7.62x39 upper assembly for it & you're good to go for big game.

Good weapon Patrick, I like Sig's and HK's......and Kimbers , and SA's......
and all other things being equal, A FEW BIG HOLES ARE BETTER THAN A LOTTA LITTLE ONES.
Even if you do not intend to carry...a peak at the USCCA, or just a trial membership will give you a lot of perspective.
and now for the broken record....practice ,practice ,practice.
You can find a lot of weapons used for about 2/3 the new price, ....and remember we like PICS!

Sick pea shooter Patrick! It is only fitting this is the first thread that I went to after watching zombieland. I have put thousands of rounds through AR varients, and there really is nothing like it. Your biggest issue is gonna be not going broke because "One more mag" is gonna be a frequently used term.....

I am getting ready to build one once I get back from my next tour. I think everyone needs one for the end of days. Or, neighbors trying to get into your pepper patch.....

the emperor has new clothes....upgraded .50 Beo upper...2 pins is all it takes for any mag well compatible cal.

I am going with a .300 blackout upper for mine. Shoots a sub or semi-sonic 7.62x59 round, giving you super quiet shots with a suppressor AND able to give you the power of shooting without one. I am setting up a NFA trust so I get build a SBR. I am thinking either 8 or 9.5 inch barrel. There is no reason for it more than being completely bad ass. Some people conceal a .45, and I am gonna conceal a rifle.... the wife thinks I am , I say it is NOT to have one....

This is very cool....we are hijacking I think-....7.62 x 59...thats almost 30.06 long...59mm.total length maybe? I was thinking 30 Federal, staying away from AR-10/DPMS 7.62 Lower.to keep the weight off. 12.5 barrel is as short as I want.

with that lower you're able to just buy an upper assembly & mags for
9mm, .204, 5.7x28, 6.8, 7.62x39, .450. .50beo.....I think thats all of'em but everyone is making new stuff for AR's so who knows.
well the 22 just a mag & new bolt carrier assembly.
gotta love the options for these guns cuz its endless.

I can get the upper for a .50 cal? OMG! 7.62X39 would be the one I would probably go for first. Add some range/stopping power to the 5.56. My day just got much brighter gentlemen I thank you.
