Shane great to hearfrom you I was wondering how everything was going for you great to see your plants still producing for you especially the grill.
Hopefully everything is going great for you and your family
My life is pretty hectic right now...haven't been getting home as much as I used to either. So the plants have been having to fend for themselves for the most part. They're overdue for a feeding! The fam is great thanks for asking. We all went to Vegas together. The wedding was nice and we did get to see a few shows with the kiddos too!

Hi Shane
Your pulls just continue to inspire! Hope you had a great weekend, and welcome back.
CHeers!
Thanks! The weekend was almost perfect...could've been better if we'd broken the Casino, but we left with a few extra $$$ in our pockets! They're pretty surprising for sure! I am super stoked with how they've put out the pods. My #'s are going to go way down for the second half of my season. I lose a few plants weekly to the virus. Some are producing in spite of it, others are just ripening their pods as the plant fades. Oh well, I still have more than I can handle! Gotta visit your grow today!

Nice harvest a lot of good heat.

Your Primo's are looking on :fire:
Thanks! I haven't even tried one of the Primos yet...soon maybe. My training schedule has me afraid to go too crazy with the supers right now.

Nice harvest Shane, as usual lately. Let me know on the powder Shane when you get a chance. I would like one of each more than likely.
Eric! Sent you a PM brother! Finally got some powder done!

Great pics Shane!! I bet you are pretty close to having you're freezer full of pods huh?! Great work!! :)
Not pretty close at all...its past that. Even with the smoker and dehydrator running full time I am falling behind. I need to either buy or build another dehydrator. Every time I open my freezer 4 or 5 gallon bags of pods fall out. Soon I will have to duct tape it closed! Thanks for stopping by...hope to catch up on your grow later!

Thanks again everyone, still having fun on this end...hope you all are too!

Wow, Brother... That's quite a word picture!

Just been browsing your glog. Wow, I can only dream of harvest like that. Do you eat anything else besides peppers? :onfire:
I try to work some in with each meal, but I can't keep up. I freeze and powder most of them and I'm still falling behind. Great problem to have! I've been really lucky and made some great decisions through the season. Many of which were due to reading some great info on here, and some helpful tips offered up along the way. Mother nature hasn't been too kind either, but kind enough. Southern California is about the perfect place for hot pepper growing so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it...Thanks for the kind words!
Shane

Shane I swear you you have a pepper genie in your back pocket. I don't know if I have seen so many peppers in one place except for the grocery store. Sheesh. You have a hot green thumb my friend Very well done

Dang shane! You are really racking them in! Love those harvest shots. With all your hard work its not much wonder i guess. That one mystery pod does look an awful lot like a yellow cardi scorp. Pretty sweet pod for sure!

btw hows you navy person doing.....

Shane, I posted in my Glog where a friend of mine had bought a new smoker and had given me their old electric one thinking that it would be great for smoking / drying peppers. Someone, I'm thinking Jamie but i'd have to go back through and check, said that he thought you might have the same one. It's a Bradley Original Electric Smoker and used these strange wood pucks. I ordered a bunch off of Ebay and it works great. Anyway's, I thought if you did use the same smoker you might be able to tell me what the best way to set it up for peppers is. My thought is that there are 2 heating elements in it. One for heating the wood pucks up to smoke and one to heat the whole cabinet. If I just use the one to heat the wood pucks and not plug in the other one I could keep the heat in the cabinet low, 150 degrees F or lower, and still smoke the peppers nicely till they're dried.

Oh, if what you have is something different, never mind. I'll just get a load of Habs and Jals from the store and see what happens.

Hope you having a great week,
Bill

Wow... just took a bit to catch up on your glog, sorry it's been so long. Amazing harvests. I would never guess you've been battling disease issues. I can't imagine how big your harvests would be if you were not!

lol...pepper genie. Nope, just plain ole lucky! Its been an amazing season even if they all died tomorrow...BUT THEY WON'T!!! I can't be thankful enough for the amount of pods I have been lucky enough to harvest! Thanks lady! You should get a few more really nice pulls off yours this season too!

Thanks man...they're actually on cruise control right now. I finally got the weather to cooperate along with dialing in the drip system. I only really get to pay attention to them on the weekends. I would probably get even better production if I was stationed closer to home and could make it home every night to pull the ripe ones...but I can't complain at all!

wauw! ...thats alot of peppers! awesome looking harvest!!! keep em coming!
Hope to have another couple BIG harvests this weekend...we shall see!

Yeah...I have one of my freezers FULL! So full in fact that I have to shove the door pretty hard just to get it to close! I almost have momma talked into a deep freezer!

Not the same...mine takes wood chips. You have a great plan. If you can keep the temp that low and still get smoke you're gonna be set! I would start with something that you don't mind messing up like the grocery Jals/Habs until you get your system dialed in. The two will dry/smoke differently due to their thickness. I wouldn't smoke all the way to dry they always come out a little too smokey if I forget them in there for too long. I only smoke them for 2-4 hours usually then dry them the remainder of the way in the dehydrator and I really like them. Good luck! post some pics of your process! My smoked Jal powder is one of my favorites so you don't have to use anything fancy!

It has definitely taken a toll on some of them...but some although sick are still kicking out pods like crazy. Hopefully next year I can have a clean season and we'll see what this Cali sunshine can do. I have learned a ton this year so hopefully I can put together another special season next year! Your grow is not to be scoffed at either my friend! I really love the "lawn" you have going. If more folks and HOAs would agree to use their lawns to actually produce something worthwhile I think we'd all be better off. I hate wasting water on grass just because it "looks good" and would much prefer to be rewarded at my table than by the neighborhood trashcan police. Momma wants me to grow much smaller next year...but I might spite her and double it instead! Really wanna try doing the Farmers Market next year and sell some powder and pods. We shall see buddy! You've been missed brother! GO UPDATE YOUR GLOG!

Thanks again everyone!
Shane

Losing more plants to the battle...think its a combination of the extreme heat coupled with the virus. Oh well, I still got a few kicking out there.

Wowww That is incredible. That Primo is a must grow for me next year. You have just convinced me. I have to hit up pepperlover and get me some seeds ASAP. I want to purchase from her to support her... :fireball:  :hot:
