Fijian Bongo Chilli

Hey Milkman do you have any info on this Fijian Bongo Chilli? Looks interesting.
Just wandering if you might know it's history? Never seen this one before, might be a local Chilli they use in their cooking?

Micca

He probably gets the seeds by sweeping the floor after deseeding a crop. ;) That's how they make party mix lollies and licorice allsorts, its just everything that fell out of the machines swept off the factory floor.

Just jokes JR

I got a free packet with an order from semillas labelled "bunte mischung" Thought `wow that must be some crazy new variety!` Google says its German for `pick n mix`

Is it normal for it to only happen on a few leaves after growing for months as a fully green plant?

My one remained fully green for a while (maybe not for months but at least the first few sets of leaves remained fully green). At first the variegation started coming through slowly and then eventually just exploded.

Mmmmm.... floor lollies.

And those "French Fry" chips are just the scraps from normal potato chips........

I had it on some jalapeno seedlings. It was definitely variegation, not a disease or damage, and it was only 3 or 4 leaves and the rest of the leaves were fine. Now they have grown larger all the leaves are green. So who knows how it happens. That's probably not much help :P

Yellow 7 Pot ripening
IMG_20130202_125345.jpg

Everything is starting to come together now. I think because the humidity is so low in the northern suburbs of Melbourne where I am, I seem to only start to get pods happening across nearly all the plants now. The Bhut Jolokias I have all seem to start having pods as of now versus flower drop, so I'm hoping the same happens to my other super hots.

Having said that, the strain of Yellow 7 Pot I have seems to enjoy the lower humidity, and I must have close to 100 pods in a single garden bed at various stages of ripening.

Yellow 7s are quite non-fussy in my experience milkman. They seem to set pods where others just wont.
My bhut jolokia Assam has flowered all summer and I have got 6 pods only. Just doesn't seem to have any pollen in its flowers ... looking good though bro ...

ha.. sorry i meant choc hab.. not bhut.

Is that your front yard milky? Do people nick your pods? or do you have a BB gun aimed at the footpath?

Front yard, yep. Must be a good neighbourhood as I don't seem to have much trouble. Did find some of pots a few doors down where it looked like some troublemakers had tipped a pot over so it had fallen out, but all I did was put the soil back in the pot and put it back in place, still grew and got pods!

About to take a Barrackpore 7 Pot pod to an Italian restaurant. The question is, do I put it in a pasta sauce (Matriciana) or do I get a Chicken Parma and spread it over the top? I'm putting toilet paper in the fridge just in case anyway ;)

If anyone has the room.. get a pig, make sure it's from good stock and nice people.. bloody hell they are lovely animals.
I can just sit with Pepper (the black one) and have a beer, talk shit and pat - she loves it.

Yes I know what you mean about animals you click with, sounds like you have a good mate too.

The white pig makes a barking sound.. the black on is just a fat pig that loves a tummy rub.
Ben tries to hump the black pig sometimes and so does the white one - they share ends depending on their moods.

I think there is something in the pigs ear that ben loves to lick, delicious.

I like your pigs and dog frenzix :)

Cheers, they are fun.

Is this a red Hab?

hows everyone coping in Queensland & NSW. Up here in N America we have freaky/intense weather too as can be witnessed by Hurricanes & the latest snowstorm in Boston, MA. Buried! Northeast digs out after monster snow storm I remember last year when there was the colossal flooding in Australia. Can't remember where that thread was. It showed cars being inundated in minutes & swept away. Anyway, hope everyone is alright.
Australian floods claim six lives
Australian media reports that six people have been killed in flooding in Queensland and New South Wales. NBCNews.com's Dara Brown reports.
