How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

Hi all,
Just incase anyone is interested my local Bunnings had Bhut Jolokia Plants over the weekend, was a bit surprised to see them
 
I guess the superhot secret is getting out. I've only ever seen wildfire chilli's hot stuff in Bunnings. The next hottest I've seen is a Habanero.

At last year's chilli festival in Fremantle you could buy Dorset Naga plants labelled as `World's hottest`.
 
Reckon the regular plebs buying the plants don't realise the growing season is ending. A small seedling bought now probably won't produce any meaningful pods before winter shuts it down.

But I guess they hold the chilli festival now so the vendors can convert a harvest into product to sell. It's more about the sauces than the plants.
 
Ok ppl losing gr8 looking pods and its all 2 much next year less plants more care bigger yield , the bugs r canning them I now have an aphid farm(I think) ) leaves and pods dropping hard and don't know why .going to a :fire: sacrifice and burn a lot :( oh the humanity

And I have to say starting under lights here is a waste of time!!! I got plants kicking the early stuff

It's all soil soil soil and keeping bugs at bay

Oh and u can't over water in wa

Luke one of your two mystery plants had to be cut down cos it was sick :( but the other has podded up a storm. They are hanging out there just asking for a moth to maggotise them but I'll probably get at least one good one.


Depending on the weather we could at least keep growing all Autumn. I'll have to make the decision at some point to call it quits and cut everything down because they won't die from the cold. Of course we might get snow this year the way things are changing.




I was planning to go to the Chilli Festival on Sunday. the forecast for the weekend says hotter on Saturday and chance of a thunderstorm on both days. At least it won't be 40 and sunny.

If anyone else is going we should meet up, be good to see the faces behind the avatars. I'll bring those sauces you wanted Cartman.. uh Kev.

Yeah I'll be going Sunday. Where would we meet up? Ive never been there. Look out for a fat bald man with a hot mrs, that be me.

Shame about the mysteries. Mine were really cranking.

Nice to (randomly) catch up with Megamoo today at the Chilli Festival. Thanks for the hot sauces, mate!

My mate just got home and checked out some of the plants he inherited from you, via myself, and he's got two got two fat moruga pods hiding under the leaves. Trying to get him to embrace the forum for the pod porn sharing :)
 
Not a problem ;)

It turned out instead of a fenced off 18+ bar area the whole festival ground was licensed, with beer available at either end so I didn't see anyone else there. We could have organised a bit better :P Place was packed too.

Still got some sauces for you Kev. You can still drop around my place and pick them up if you want.
