  • Is a 2 gallon bucket enough for hydro/aero, or should I go 3.5 or 5?

Ok, thx. I'll start with the 2 gallons, then bump it up to five if they have to.

I wouldn't grow hydro in anything smaller then 4 gallon..just my opinion ..
My sepia serpent seems to have picked up its leaf folding mannerisms from my sunrise scorpion. If it picks up fruiting habits as well, it's gonna be a great harvest.
How's oak go for pepper mulch? I've been looking for information about this, but find mixed reports.

Imo I would avoid it. Oak is high in tannins. I believe its more acidic than most wood.

I gotta disagree with ya there, hogleg. Oak chips make fantastic mulch. Lots of phenolics makes oak resistant to quick decomposition, so it'll last a long time. And soil acidification is only a concern in really sandy soil - where there's no humus or microbial activity to deal with excess organic acids. Pile it on, cruzz! Build some humus!

I think oak is A-O-K. See what I did there. Rearranged the letters. Few people have that natural genius.

Cutting mini sunrise scorpion open. Found even more mini green pepper in it, was glad I use for cooking instead of eating.
7 pod giant finally realized what it's name is. And holy sh*t those pods are getting huge.

Alarmingly, one of the ones I reppotted hadn't grown new roots since it was put in the first pot. I broke up the root ball a bit, so it might be better.
Only the top of a pepper is ripening. Red and orange, rest of it is green. It started two days ago, is this normal?

Should have used the peppers in fermenting process.
My friend sent me a vid of the LA Beast eating a cactus. It makes my face hurt just to watch it.

I could give these guys out, but it takes years for them to reach full size. I have several coming up, so in 2016 or so I'll hand them out.
Does it really take more than a month to ripen? I could have grown three generations of beans in this time.

I never had a cactus bloom. Mine only reproduce with "cactus eggs" as I call them. An inch long egg shaped spike ball falls off the cactus, and in a few months it grows a root and makes a new cactus. I wish they flowered though.
