  • My yellow moruga has about 5 good leaves on a 3x3' plant, and yet it's producing flowers alongside the new leaves. If only my healthier plants had that dedication.
Past the last frost, but still lows in the 40's. Too cold to plant out?

Yup. There's no point to planting out when it's still that cool, imho.

Year+ hydro's and potted mini's go out tomorrow.
Though still expect frosts, a grow tent and heat lamps will have to do, as they are dying and the new crop needs a home inside.
    Seeds viable after dehydrator?

Depends on temp. I find that seeds dried below 100F germ just fine.

What Hybrid Mode said. If you dehydrate them full blast (mine goes to 165f), then they'll get cooked, but if you're willing to wait the extra time for them to dehydrate at the lower temps, thne it's worth it.

Ok, thanks. I mine took 3 days to dry, so it should be good. I'll just use them all and see what happens. Last time I did that thinking only one was gonna sprout, they all did.
Well, it's started to warm up now.

It's 40 here now. 15 tomorrow, but over the week it'll stay around 30.
How would you treat scale around this time of year. Most preadatory insects are asleep/dead

I have some inside, they just all went into the corner of the room and are sleeping, so I don't think more will help. They're definitely alive, because they move when bothered, but dont' want to do much. I'll get neem oil if it won't bother them at all.

Yes, but if you get some from a warmer climate, they'll be wide awake when they arrive, especially after shipping. It's your choice, though!

Got me a grow tent for these types of probs. $79 for a 4x4x6 and keeps the humidity up and the ladybugs inside. Lady bugs from amazon for $10 1500 of them from Hirts.
Peppers may be proof that we're dumb, but sundews are proof that someone, somewhere, wants to ruin our day.

Sticky leaved bug eater plant if you're being serious. Murder to repot because they've got roots eight times longer than the plant is, and the sticky leaves got peat all over it and now the entire room is a mess.
Any other ways to grind pepper aside from mortar and pestle. I don't wanna try *that* trick again....

My blades get high..and low. Its a sunbeam. Heavy duty glass pitcher, fits Ball jars. I love it. No flakes, true powder as fine as Joyners.

Thanks guys. I found a breath mask, which would stop the dust from getting in my lungs, so I should be fine.
    @Ikeepfish
I'd have no issue with doing that. I'd be more worried if other people want to eat them even after that though.
What dehydrators do you guys use?

it takes longer than 12 hours because of our humidity. maybe you wont have that problem?

There ya go! I'm definitely leaning toward getting it, since even with an 8 tray max, I'm afraid my current Nesco won't measure up when the plants I have in my backyard begin their explosion of pods... that or I'll have to run it 24/7, so the Cabelas would be a lifesaver for me

The Cabelas one does look very nice. I like the fact that that temp goes down to 50 degrees. I try to dehydrate around 95 degrees.
Never say you plan on getting a new laptop in earshot of the old one. They throw a tantrum/
