    Poppies

Gorgeous! I have some yellow poppies in my garden as well and some seedlings for a few other varieties.

    Stakes or Cages

I stake my peppers and cage my tomatoes. My tomatoes usually outgrow their cages though so end up with additional stakes for support.

    The Jobito Has Landed...

Looks great! I can't wait for my Jobitos to start putting out some pods!

health What's wrong with my choc bhutlah leaves?

Looks like sun/wind burn. A few of my plants outside look like this as well unfortunately due to some sporadic weather recently.

    Shishito peppers are the shishit

Jealous of the pepper selection you have there! That is pretty cool!   This is my second year growing shishitos and they always are the first to pod up. I have 2 plants growing as well.

    seeds Starting seeds..

This is exactly what I use. I put them on a heat mat as well. I have always had good success with this method (much better than the paper towel method). I remove the pellets from the dome as they sprout and pop them under lights.

    Problem with my Rocotos

Mine grow much better when I put them in a shady/partial sun spot. When I put them out into full sun they get cooked with 30C weather and end up going through what yours are.

    suggestions for purple leaf plants

This is my second year growing purple tigers from THSC. They are neat plants but are more green/white variegation than purple leaves. They have gorgeous purple flowers though. The leaves are similar in variegation to a fish pepper but have a few darker patches thrown in too. They definitely...

    Berry pickin'

I'm growing these as well this year (although labelled pineberries by the supplier-but I presume that these are the same thing). I'm curious to see how it plays out!

    Hardening off short cut???

I would be reluctant to skip hardening off. I have been putting my plants out in the shade for a couple hours the past couple days to begin hardening them off and by the time I bring them in they are all drooping. They perk up quickly once indoors but I have a feeling that they would be toast if...

Does anyone else feel stalled due to weather?

Our weather has been fantastic this year compared to usual (will even be 29C/84F next week apparently). That being said, I don't dare plant out until at least mid-May as we are at risk for getting hit with frost and I don't want to kill everything. I am taking this opportunity to slowly harden...

Yellow Rocoto off to a good start

Looking good so far! I have a red one growing this year. I had two orange manzano plants last year and the peppers were quite tasty!

seeds Newbie.... Half of my seedlings sprout and wither and die immediately... Oh No!!

This was my thought seeing the picture. I've had this happen to 2 seedlings before where they looked like the OP's photo and this is what happened. They sprouted with helmet heads, I didn't assist in removing the helmet heads until days later and that is what my seedlings looked like -...

    2016 plant out dates

I'm in Calgary Alberta. I don't usually plant anything until mid to late May. It has been nice enough lately that my plants are spending time outdoors but our nights are still chilly so nothing gets planted yet.
