Back to work tomorrow. 12 days off was nice. I think I'll be lazy today.
First frost tonight. Picked all ripe and unripe pods. Three 1gallon pots full! Turning it all into relish. Smells dangerously wonderful in my kitchen right now!
Happy Winter Solstice! Tonight at sundown marks the begining of the Yule season. The word Yule (Old Norse: Jól) is actually plural, and it literally means parties. The word is therefore not referring to one single party or one event, but to several Yule celebrations that most likely took place between the winter solstice and the Yule Sacrifice (full moon after solstice)

recently got married. today we leave for our honeymoon. we will be in the woods for three days mushroom hunting.

On this day three years ago my son was born 15 weeks early. he was 2 lbs 4 oz. today he's healthy and caught up developmentally. Happy Birthday Ozey!
