media Best way to water peat pots?

yeah, i've already decided to do plastic pots next year. I've always gotten plants from a local greenhouse in the peat pots, and it was always real easy to just plant the whole thing. I will be trimming off the tops of the pots this year when planting. . .

tutorial The Comprehensive Guide to Over-Wintering

Heres a couple shots of my overwintered Ghost Hab's. After joining this site last summer, I decided to dig up a couple of my plants and try my best to make them survive the winter. After a few aphid problems, I got Azamax and got rid of them (I hope). Since I didn't have alot of room I put them...

media Best way to water peat pots?

I've recently transplanted my seedlings from their germination kit to peat pots filled with Happy Frog soil. I know having the surface wet is not good for them (fungus, damping off). I have 15 pots per tray. I was thinking of poking a hole in the corner of the tray so when I watered, I could...

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

So now I decided to go ahead and pot the ones that had sprouted a little while ago. I ended up with 12 Trinidad Scorpions, 3 Chocolate Habaneros, and 3 Giant Jalapenos so far. I got them into 4 inch peat pots, with Happy Frog soil. They're a couple inches from the lights.

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

Well, after unwrapping my seeds that were soaking in paper towels, I now have added 12 more Chocolate Habaneros, and 2 more Giant Jalapenos to my peat pellets. Since I ran out of room in my germination kit, I had to make a simple one of my own. I used some tupperware and covered it with plastic...

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

I decided to turn off the heating mat for now. Together with the lights now on the germination kit, it seemed like it was drying out the pellets some. So, I added a little water to them. Hopefully it doesnt stunt them.

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

thanks folks. RandyYJ, i'm going to do what you suggested. i never thought of drilling holes in the sides of the shelves. The main reason i attached them directly under the shelves was for the germination kit with the 7 inch dome. Once they get into pots, the lights will be about 2 inches away...

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

Ok, went today and got some more gear for my setup. I ended up getting a decent plastic shelfing unit at Home Depot. Then I went to my indoor garden store, and got two T-5 fixtures, 4 bulbs each. I set up my shelf, attached the lights with some zip ties (the hooks they came with made the lights...

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

the Ghosts are going back in the ground this spring. I didn't have room to overwinter alot of my stuff. so i came up with the idea of putting a couple in the hanging baskets. the one thing i should have done better, was to knock off alot of the garden dirt, and clean the root system a little...

ok, so i'm adding a new section to my garden. the original is about 20, by 20. it's divided into two sections, one i'll be using for just hot peppers, the other for tomatoes and cucumbers. The new section i'm making will be another 10x20 section. i've already put leaves and roughly 500 gallons...

    Green Pods

I had about 100 Bhut's at the end of the growing season that didn't ripen. It was a shame because some of them were freaking huge. I dried all of them and ground them. I also had the same with about 60 Cayenne's as well. They still make good powders, I just used some on a rack of ribs, and it...
