A Pepperhead glog: Pickling, Saucing, and Powdering

Thanks for reading!  Tell all your friends!  ;)   Thought I had a Brain Strain pod.  Saw the little pistil sticking out.  Went to check on it today and the little bugger fell off.  Hopefully tomorrow will see another. :(

    Primo problem

Definately yellowish.  Or at least not as green as anything else.  I'll have to have another look in the morning.  I moved it into the sun hoping that would help it some.  I'm kind of hit or miss on regularly scheduled nutes.  Maybe a compost top dressing or a little extra liquid Fox Farms?

    Primo problem

I've got one Primo that's been struggling for a little bit.  The older leaves seem normal but all of the new leaves growing are really thin and spindly.  Very thin and spindly.  I'll put up pictures tomorrow, but is this a problem that sounds familiar to anyone?

Don't do it!  Get out while you still can!  First it's checking 5 times a day for cotys, then it's checking ten times a day for buds, then for pods, Pretty soon you're checking 20 plants every 5 minutes for a hint of red.  I stare at my plants all day just to keep them alive.  :banghead:

    Devv's Dirt Grow-Almost done..

I got major hiccups with half a Kung pao last year.  I might attempt a whole super pod this year just for cred, but I prefer powdered or sauced to limit my dosage.

A Pepperhead glog: Pickling, Saucing, and Powdering

I figured out that the jumpy video is a result of it being shot in HD, but being watched on my non-hd computer.  Gonna be hard to get over in the editing process.  I need to get an Ipad.

Thanks! Actually found out that was a lie.  There are 2 primos on that plant.  Saw it the other day from a different angle.  I've got 3 more primo plants, 2 of decent size, that will probably produce well (when they start podding up).

    breeding Open Crosses?

Depending on when everything flowered, I figure I'm about 50/50 on hybrids next year.  Maybe less.

I stand corrected.  Just found one of my bhuts with a wicked stinger.

That's it.  I'm not posting anymore pics until I see some reddening going on.                                                 Woo Hoo!  Reddening witch nose Ghost!  I'll have to call it Devil's nose soon.  And on my big Ghost plant, one of my pods has a wicked stinger!  No picture of that one...

What hybrids do you intend to try and create this season?

I'm pretty sure there's a 50/50 chance most of my stuff will be hybrids next year.  I'm not even trying to prevent it.  Early pods on each plant might be spared due to when flowers open.  Sorry folks, but all my plants share their love all over my garden.    Hopefully people will still trade...

    Carolina Reaper pic....

I have two plants producing pods.  One very smooth and hab like, the other wrinkly with a stinger.  Posted pics of both on the Reaper community grow glog.  From the same seed pack they look very different.

Good info.  Thanks!  I'll check it in the morning.

    Admit it...you have GSH

You ran out of hot stuff one night and were forced to buy them in your local produce section.  They weren't that great looking, but you needed that capsaicin fix.  You grow the hottest peppers on planet Earth, including Bhuts, Primos, and Morugas, but for some reason you could not resist...

AMG's 2013 Grow! Pods Pods Pods. Overdue Update.

Fezzik is an awesome name for a dog.  I used to have a big black lab, and the only toy he never could destroy was his tire.  I highly recommend it for big destructive dogs.  Oh and your pods look great, too!  :)

I need a new organization system

When I've finished with the disposable plastic cups, I cut them into strips and use those as labels.

Here is a comparison of my two producing plants right now:     Habby Reaper     Stingy Reaper   Same seed pack.   I just read an article that the Reapers come from Jolokias and "Sweet Habs".  Do either of those have stingers?  I may be wrong, but I thought that came from Trinidad scorps.

Shlogg's Glog 2013... Long overdue update.

Great comeback!  I had a Reaper that hit the deck in its peat pot, then dried out for a few days.  After I found it and watered it all the leaves fell off and looked like yours were looking.  It's coming back strong, though, just like yours.  Keep on Truckin'!

Does your redden like this?     My plant has a lot of pods, but isn't as big as some of ya'lls.
