another first time grower with a ghost pepper plant

Moving the plant to the window was just to get a better picture. I have a 60 watt grow light and a 60 watt normal bulb on it (several inches away, but not too hot) and there are two bulbs in the ceiling light.

another first time grower with a ghost pepper plant

A friend from work helped me to start growing ghost pepper plants from seed. I had bought a package of ghost peppers from the grocery store and kept seed. I kept two plants and gave two each to three people. One of mine was killed, but the other is doing well. None of the rest are alive. This is...

Anyone try growing Crunchy Green peppers?

Even if they are just plain bell peppers and they have no heat to them at all, you can still roast them to get good flavor from them.

The Reapers arrived today, with twice as many as I had paid for. Thank you very much, Ajdrew. Those peppers are excellent. They look wonderful and taste even better.

The Carolina Reapers came today. The pods look wonderful, and you sent twice as many as I had paid for. I am already adding them to food, after having tasted some by itself. That is some serious heat, even after having had ghost peppers. They taste really good, too. I have kept some seed to dry...

    Christopher Phillips Leukemia Fund

One way to help, more generally, is to register to be a marrow donor.   https://bethematch.org/   So far I haven't been called up, but I have been on the registry for several years now.   Also, it can help to donate platelets. Marrow transplant recipients often need a great many platelets.

seeds Why have my seedlings stopped growing?

If you mean low 20s F then that is solidly below freezing and that is clearly a problem. If you mean C then that is high 60s / low 70s F and that is the temperature range I have been growing in. If you are growing indoors then maybe more light would be helpful. That was why I bought special...

To me this thread will be the one that got some Reapers for me by starting me buying from you. It's a good thing.

    Reaper trashing...

My online order was for 5 pods at $10. The price ranges I listed before were for buying boxes in person at the grocery. It was all I had for the purpose of comparison.   I can only imagine how nice it would be to have 2 pounds of superhots.

labels Pure Evil label #2 update

I'm already wondering how best to apply it to food, like burritos, or to mix it in a bowl of spaghetti.

They say they can only get what the warehouse keeps in stock. So no scorpions most of the time, and ghost peppers are a lot less common than they used to be. They never have reapers. It is better to grow my own.

    Mango Pumpkin

That doesn't look like nearly enough ghost pepper. How will you taste it in all those other ingredients?

    Reaper trashing...

My neighbors kill my plants when I put them outside and the windows belong to the cat. I have my first ghost pepper growing under lights in the kitchen. My cilantro isn't going well. The roma tomatoes aren't sprouting yet, but I hope to add them to my collection. The two things I'm really hoping...

Are we talking about fixing too much nitrogen in the soil for hot peppers?

    Chives in Sauce

Finally I remembered the rest of what I was trying to remember. It was the voice intoning "pigs in space!" and it was something to do with muppets. Except this time it was "chives in sauce!" to the same voice in my head. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

    Reaper trashing...

Thanks. I appreciate it. Of course, this is my first time buying peppers online. All I have to compare with are the in store prices at my local grocery. A 1.75 ounce box of ghost peppers might run from $6 to $10. When they can get scorpions, it generally goes from $10 to $12 for the same size...

nutrients What nutrients should I use?

Peppers and tomatoes are in the same family. The guy at the plant store told me I should use tomato food. It was a lot easier than buying my calcium and magnesium separately. The thing you want to avoid is too much nitrogen, which increases the amount of leaves but cuts back on your flowers and...
