Good morning. 50-80F, comfortable evenings. This week has been a trip. No water for most of yesterday, finally could water the garden at night. Sod is supposed to be delivered today. We shall see. Tomato plant take down at the CG, we’ll see how far I get. I still have green toms, but my friend...

Good morning. 50-80F today, no rain until Saturday. The guys are having a difficult time w/our lawn. The neighbor’s tree roots are everywhere and our hard clay soil is just that. No wonder it’s been horrible these past few years. Coffee group and grocery shopping, plus garden chores are on for...

Downriver - lawn removal - they used a sod cutter to cut ‘strips’ that are very difficult to remove as hubby stupidly watered the morning they were to start. If it was perfect, they would just roll the sod. Not here! They’re having to use flat shovels to get the stuff out. Much manual labor.

Good morning. 52-82F, guess it’s time to start taking down the garden, slowly. The back lawn is slowly being removed, it was so full of weeds, so maybe we can enjoy a nice lawn again. Enjoy your day, take time for yourself, give your pets an extra treat. Travel safe, Sic and Sonya.

Good morning. 56-80F. Busy day with the picnic, getting ready for the lawn replacement, and a touch of evening rain. Monday errands plus an extra delivery of baby layettes. I feel like Sic - always on the go . . . Have a great day ahead. Enjoy these cooler nights.

Good morning. Cooler weather, except WX says 90F again today. At least the nights are cool. We’re finally getting our lawn replaced this coming week after use and abuse from Mother Nature. Hopefully it will last another 30 years. Today’s a great day to save a few seeds and cut and skin tomatoes...

Good afternoon. Today was a quick water and tomato harvest at the CG. Then breakfast with our friend who is now in assisted living- which took awhile. Then we picked up baby items for our donated layettes. Our neighbor’s dog is being put down soon, so we had to say good bye. ☹️. Lots to do...

Good morning. No rain, but cool enough to get a few things done outside. The mornings are ‘just right’ to enjoy working in the garden. Tear down won’t be for another month or so, maybe a few plants at a time. Enjoy this beautiful time of year. Stay hydrated and healthy, and don’t forget your...

Good afternoon. Meetings, CG work, and lots of weeding, digging at home. Now it’s close to lunchtime and we’re waiting for the predicted rain in 2 hours - few clouds, so maybe we’ll get some moisture tonight. Hopefully the 90F temps are elsewhere and the Japanese beetles will soon follow...

Good morning. 58-92F, and dry. Busy day with meetings and Dr. appt. The CG is slowing down some, but I still have lots of green tomatoes. The Opalkas keep pushing new fruit, so that I will be thinking of drying the slices for later. Good luck w/all your peppers everyone. Have a great Tuesday...

Good morning. Frost warning - no bueno at all! I still have lots to harvest, waiting for things to ripen. Slow but sure. Not much planned for today, saving seeds, I guess. The 90F are still around as well as the Jap beetles. Enjoy this Fall weather, the mums are showing beautiful colors as well...

Good morning. The temps are creeping up the the 90’s for a week - we should be used to that, but I’m ready for the 70’s to be more permanent for harvesting. At least the tomatoes are turning red faster than last month. Time to give more away today. Enjoy this beautiful weekend. Take time for...

Good morning. 54-86F, the temps are creeping to the 90’s again. Busy Saturday in the kitchen and home garden digging out older plants, making room for others. I’m making a peach crisp for a men’s group for the ‘dessert’ of their breakfast. Pickled beets are on for today, too. Have a wonderful...

Good morning. Yesterday a fellow CG gardener and I hauled a huge mound of weeds he had pulled from another area. I hope that doesn’t happen again, but am sure it could. We had blessed rain and cooler temps last night. Downriver is right, it’s going to be a long winter. I’m ready for time away...

Good morning. Looks like a couple of cooler days to get outdoor chores done, like digging out a few plants. Maybe it’ll rain and we can enjoy the day inside. CG has lots of weeds that one gardener has neglected. Maybe we can work on that. 💤💤💤 to Sic. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Enjoy nature’s...

Good morning. Another 90F blast of hot air. Yesterday we made dill pickles, today is something with peaches. First a few errands and then enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty. Have a wonderful Tuesday, back to the ole grind. Thank a veteran, buy him a cup of coffee.

Good morning. Busy AM at the CG watering, weeding, talking. Now at home to dig up ‘old’ plants and get new colors for Spring. It’s a good time for change. We still have 91F temps, but the cool nights are quite welcome. Have a great holiday and don’t labor too much. Stay hydrated along with...

Thanks, Downriver. I do have geraniums in my garden area, but not as many as I need!! I’m sure these pests will be munching on whatever I’m growing. Last year it was hyssop. This year all of my pole beans. Next year will probably be whatever I grow. Thanks for the flower research link. If you...

Good morning. Yesterday was filled with Labor Day shopping so maybe today we can stay home and enjoy the garden weeding and Jap beetle catching. Those ravenous pests should have left the planet by now. Nope. Same with grasshoppers. Have been re-thinking what to grow next year that those bugs...
