Is 10-15C daytime temps or overnight lows?
It isnt uncommon for plants to drop leaves periodically throughout the season and it is normal as temps start to drop.
My gut would say you are fine but some other folks might have more experience.
Pics would help by the way.
Found some little bastards on one of my seedlings. That live on the roof of my apartment.
The closest plant is an oak tree in front of the building at least 20 feet away.
I squished the ones I saw with my fingers and AzaMaxd the crap out of all the plants. Have no idea where they came from.
If those sticks don't grow any leaves it will be a long time before they need any water. Check weight of the pots now (just watered) so you can compare to what a lighter (drier) pot feels like.
Are you going for dormant? Or do you want the plant to kick out some new growth and be slowly...
Friend grabbed some jalapeños from a Mexican market and threw them on the grill the other day. I grabbed one to go with my tacos and first bite into it lit me up something fierce.
100%. Might need some 55 gallon drums painted black to catch the suns heat during the day and slowly release during the night.
Your peppers will do better with soil temps minimum 50 degrees but as long as they do not freeze they will not die. Growth might be slower than spring/summer months...
I understand this is from Matthew Arthur and I think it's a just a selected strain 7 pot Jonah but I cannot find much more about it.
Is it hotter? Different shape? Different/better flavor? Who has grown it side by side with the Jonah and what can you share about the differences?
Looks like you are growing outside so space should not be an issue like it would inside. Is there a specific reason you are LST besides for an experiment?
Pot forums will have the best advice on LST but it has been done for a long time with other types of plants. Look up espalier - here is some...
I have read several books on aquaponics. Aquaponic Gardening by Sylvia Bernstein is a great resource. Unfortunately I live in an apartment but I am planning a greenhouse aquaponics setup when I buy a house.
Peppers need a lot of nutrients so they would grow better in a mature system. It is all...
I was going to recommend a light a trimming of the tops, but that may back fire... more foliage probably means more respiration and a faster ability to get moisture out of the soil...
Not sure what to tell you on this one.
I dont think it was 5 inches of mulch. I think was that you used redwood mulch. Which I would not put anywhere near something I planned to eat. Have you ever seen the ground underneath a redwood tree? It is completely barren and devoid of all plant life.
Lots of folks here mulch heavily using...
Amazon/EBay = bad place to buy seeds
Many reputable vendors here. Texas Hot Peppers usually has an ad going, also whitehotpeppers.com and peppersbymail.com
Just an FYI despite what you may have heard you cant sell Aji Charapita for $20k/pound
Definitely mites, most likely broad mites. They are too small to see with the naked eye. Get some Azamax (derived from neem) or neem. Stop feeding until new growth is normal since the mites feed on new growth.
Do you have pics of the deficiency? Asking because I had what I thought was a calcium deficiency and it ended up being broad mites and they royally messed up my plants. Set my season back at least a month.
