    Newbie after some advice

I have a couple of plants that look like this, cayennes and peter peppers. There's no reason either, they've had the same light as the others. I'm not worried - they'll sort themselves out, or I'll stake them.

health What's wrong with my peppers? Curled up leaves?

pretty bad oedema if it's on the tops of the leaves too - never seen that personally

pests Bug ID: Anyone know what these are?

Initially I thought "spider mite" but I'm swaying more toward the possibility they're just "money spiders" - any damage to the plants? Also - here's another possibility   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryobia_praetiosa

No - I think you should throw it away.  :P

seeds What do you think is happening to this seedling

This is why I plant double the amount of seeds as I want plants, then anything like this can be disposed of. Otherwise you're putting time, energy and money into something that may even turn out to be contagious.

Various problems in the first stages of growth

yeah, wet them, leave it to soak in, squeeze them a bit along the axis to try to open them while you pull. By the size in the photo, it wont be a big deal if you do rip a tiny bit of the leaf off with them but be sure not to pull the entire seedling in two or uproot it!!     what mites did you...

seeds How low of temps can seedlings handle in an unheated mini green house?

It's a tiny 6x4ft cheap perspex/aluminum thing, so it's sealed as in all doors/windows close and no wind inside but its not sealed as in airtight, not by a long way.

seeds How low of temps can seedlings handle in an unheated mini green house?

0.3C last night. No issues. A bit close to game over though! I imagine they can't survive freezing...

    seeds Germination Troubles

I don't believe so - if you truly have cooked them, but I also don't believe 85F = 29C is considered overheating at all. All these germinated just fine...   http://imgur.com/VBe0jrH   Admittedly that wasn't the NORMAL temp, and I did open the vents once I noticed, but I do aim for around 30C...

    seeds Germination Troubles

You can't really plant seeds too deep, I did a cheeky unscientific experiment this year with identical seeds sown in groups of three at depths of 0cm, 0.5cm, 1/2 inch, and 1.5 inch. Results were surprising, they all germinated and after the first leaves they were all approximately the same...

    Early flowering

Same here - just keep on pinching! :) I've left a few on just so I can (try to) get a small but early crop, been too long since I last had any fruit!

seeds How low of temps can seedlings handle in an unheated mini green house?

This is starting to get interesting now. I've been graphing the temps on a "rolling chart" overnight - long story. Last night the low on that graph is 1.8C, the chart currently plots "backwards" i.e. it's 12C now, and was 1.8c a thousand readings ago, readings are sent every 8 seconds so that's...

    Battered Chilli Plant

Read the title and thought you'd invented a new delicacy for the fish and chip shops!    You're supposed to get a ground anchor when you put up a greenhouse btw, 'specially them plastic ones. I tried to construct mine in the last windy spell we had, was quite funny, the windows kept...

seeds How low of temps can seedlings handle in an unheated mini green house?

Correction, or update! As of 3pm, they've all recovered. Marvellous. Robust little things aren't they?         very small - as in, not even first set of proper leaves. I literally can't fit them anywhere but the greenhouse, every windowsill is full of plants, so I had to chance it against my...

seeds How low of temps can seedlings handle in an unheated mini green house?

I have an answer for you - my seedlings (very young) went down to 3C last night and about half of them were fallen over this morning. It was only 3C for a couple hours too.   So the answer from me is: 5C good, 3C bad.

seeds How low of temps can seedlings handle in an unheated mini green house?

3C seems a bit low but I guess you'll find out - I also have some seedlings I cant physically fit in the house and we're forecast 1C at the end of this week. I guess this is going to be interesting!    One thing I have noted is that the ones I have in the greenhouse (5C min at night) are growing...

    Wilting + light green leaves

wouldnt have thought a few aphids cause this much damage so quickly, I'm sure it's possible but I'm unconvinced. Roots don't look too bad either, certainly not rootbound.   However I am a bit suspicious because the new growth looks a bit crispy, it could be broad mites. They can do this much...

Oh yikes - thats worse than I was expecting. Can we get a close up of the new leaf growth, you know, the tips, too?

seeds Jiffy pellets, poor germination rates

indeed!    Also how cool is "too cool", if it were 40C outside I'd probably prefer to leave them without a lid, or bring them inside. As has been mentioned, could have been cooked...apparently germination also becomes erratic over 38C. Not that I ever see that, being in the UK :)
