Dont start seeds in tiny pots and keep repotting them as they grow. Just start them in the 2nd to last size and do one repotting before moving outside.

I dry my seeds and freeze them for storage purposes, but the very first ones i froze were fresh and i was still able to get around 1 in 10 to sprout. Id say dont give up, just try germinating a lot more than normal

Before i make a sauce i pickle the peppers and onions for a month or so. Its just a tradional pickling recipe but i also add lemon and lime zest to the pickling liquid. It adds something i cant put my finger on, but i cant imagine the final product without it any more.
