I have several different Yellow Habs. They-habs. do come in yellow too. Peppermania and others sold yellow hab, seeds,years ago. It was thought Peach was a cross of Yellow and red or orange at one time. Yellow habs had a different taste also than other colors,less heat too.

Watch out. A Nursery told me some places use Systemic Poisons on their Plants sold as Ornamentals. Thus the warning. Lots easier to grow with systemics at times. They don't want stuff  sold for looks to look like a few critters munched on them. I don't know if it's common practice or not...

As far as I've seen in my garden,they hang out in decayed stuff. I've read they sometimes eat roots. I doubt it though. As far as when I've seen them,they are into the soil that drains out of my pots drain holes. I see them under pots,Never in them.   I see them as Scavangers.Not pests.

I first ate Tongue in a N.Y. Deli. It was steamed,not boiled. Loved it. I think they cooked it like their Corned Beef or Pastromi. Spice didn't taste much different,the meat taste showed through... Never thought about totally smoking it. I usually steamed it until 1/2-2/3rds cooked them...
