chinense Is there a difference: 7 Pot vs Trinidad Scorpion

They probably are closely related but still I consider them different and unique cultivars.

Growing extremely hot peppers in Oregon

I only have 2 seasons worth of experience starting from seed, so your results (and my future results may vary). For the 2010 season, I started all of my seeds no sooner than January 1. Had really nice 1 gallon sized transplants at plant out time in mid-April. For the 2011 season I started at...

    BRING IT ON!!!

I didn't originally plan on using ONLY hydro. Just got busy (lazy) and never got any in the dirt. My plants probably survived because I was too busy to mess 'em up. :D

    Tonly's 2011 grow log

Already had lots of pods this season. A late but bountiful harvest. :) If it's the 3rd pic up from the bottom with some yellow pods off to the right, the red pods are bhut jolokia. Edit: Just re-read your question. The single pod is a red scorpion. I'd have to go check the tag to see if it...

    Tonly's 2011 grow log

Here's a big pair of Fatali plants. Full of buds. Hope they don't run out of time before frost. These are the 2nd year plants. The only ones that have been very productive are the pubescens. The pubescens have given quite a few pods considering the extreme heat this year. Weather has...

    Tonly's 2011 grow log

The super hot raised bed has gotten out of control. It has been suffering major neglect. The plants have gotten so tall they just fell over and have been growing sideways. I drove some fence posts in the middle of the bed and used bailer twine to try and get them back up off the ground...

    BRING IT ON!!!

Tallest of my plants: Ripe Pods. Here's what I meant by short internodal length. I Pruned several branches off this one plant. I think I may have a very slight edge on stem thickness. It's about 1/2 inch. I say we call that one a draw and we both get 2 bottles of sauce. I put...

    BRING IT ON!!!

Thanks Newt! Will be watching your "growdown". I'm not much of a cook, but I can see from this how much fun the monthly throwdowns here at THP are for all the folks that can cook. I guess this has been sort of a growing version of a throwdown. Hope to see many more. Here are my final pics...

    BRING IT ON!!!

Just got home from work. You definitely have the "tallest" category. Will have to measure and post an update later today. We both get to start shopping for some sauce now. Even though he was cheering for the wrong team, I am gonna have to get something from JustaGuy. Looks like he...

    Justaguy's 2011 Garden Season

Not 100% sure, but I think one of the characteristics of c. chinense is multiple fruit per node. Love that "hab tunnel" pic! Everything else is looking good too, Brian.

    Tonly's 2011 grow log

This was the 2nd time I cut them down. They were just about this big the first time and were just starting to set pods. Aphids hit so severely I decided to just chop the plants down. They grew back and I got quite a few pods off of them until the weather got really hot and stayed that way.

This will be my first. I guess you need to just be lucky at first until you can gain that experience.
