hybrid Is this breeding idea possible?

Yeah that is how all F1 varieties you see for sale are made. 2 pure true breeding strains crossed will provide reasonably uniform F1 generation. Trick is making sure the two parent strains are stable enough that you get this kind of consistency in the F1 generation.   Making F1 crosses is...

condiment First attempt at a creamy Salsa Verde

That looks really similar to the green sauce all the taquerias in this area serve. You would swear it had avocado or cream or something but its just jalapenos, oil, salt, garlic & lime juice. It's super simple but phenomenal.   Just take like 5-7 large jals, pull the stems off & toss in boiling...

Yeah the plan is to let most of these grow out until the frost gets them. Going to try and overwinter a couple indoors, maybe bonchi one or two. And going to try to overwinter all 4 tepins right in the bed by cutting them back and mulching them heavily before cold gets to them. I've had tepins...

    Blooming?

Peppers are perennials and once they start blooming they will keep doing it continuously until they die. Sometimes the blooms fall off without setting fruit though when its' too hot or they have too much nitrogen or are otherwise unhappy.

    TXCG 2016

Been awhile since I posted an update. Plants are taller than me now.        View from the back side. The tepins on the left are just a ridiculous jungle. I spend hours picking them and never make a noticeable dent.

I'd give it full sun, Mine is still producing pods in 100+ deg heat in full sun here. And yeah the plants got quite tall quickly but I didn't bother pruning just let them sprawl out and do there thing. Very heavy producer of neat looking fruit that makes great powder. Going to keep this one on...

Garden is still kicking ass. I spent another 2 hours or so picking peppers this evening. I've given away a few paper lunch sacks full at work, my dehydrator has been running 24/7 since I bought it & I'm about to start filling up my freezer it looks like.   Still losing some pods to grasshoppers...
