That is so wild---I never thought of trying to crystallize the Capsaicin but it should work as your picture shows. I have a BS in chemistry but never thought of trying to do that---well done impending and alkall---I am impressed and looking forward to your updates and processes.

I looked at your grow list---seems a well rounded list. The only one I would recommend to try is the Sandollar: it is a little circular jalapeno level heat that can be filled abd backed for great little poppers. Great little pepper with a little heat and if you scrap out all the veins inside it...
the quick answer is it is just a means to maintain plant growth---pinch off flowers or buds and that will keep the plant from spending energy on making fruit.

There is a place in northern CA that has pea sized pine bark----do not remember their name. But I got a couple bags of their stuff last year and it was great---the best I found. I just mixed it with miracle grow and the plants loved it.
