This may not be the best for plants, but I took the pots and drilled bigger holes in the bottom, then took a thin steel rod and poked lots of holes in the soil all the way to the bottom while trying to avoid the roots. Seemed to help it dry out faster. That and bring them in everytime it rains...

HA you must live in Iowa. We have had over a foot of rain in the last ten days. GRRRR!

Mine did that too (not just scorpions) but then grew back two or three leaves everywhere that one fell off. I think it was transplant shock or overwater. Either way, they came back. Yours look rather healthy so I wouldn't worry too much.

This might be an off topic question, but can someone tell my why fish have teeth. Only thing I can come up with is defense. Its not like they chew and swallow, they eat their food whole, well most do anyway. With the exception of pirahnas and maybe sharks.

I didn't realize that pickling made them lose heat. Is it just part of the process, or does some of the cap just blend in with the juice leaving the peppers themselves weaker?

Maybe they just don't care for the ripe taste. Might sound strange, but in certain recipes I think that green tastes better. Ripe chiles don't give certain foods that grassy taste that they need.

Honestly, it not bad at all! Afterall horses are fed grains and such so they don't have a gamey taste, just a little on the tough side.
