    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

Here is a long awaited update. Nothing incredible to share. I have a couple of shots of what I thought was going to be my second to last harvest. It turned out to be my last. Then, a few days later, we had a lovely snow storm. I took pictures early on but did not want to walk outside...

    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

Well it looks like I crapped the bed on this one. Sorry for taking so long to get back to THP and respond to your nice comments. Hopefully I will be spending more time on here.

    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

Thanks. Some were pushed over but several broke. I plan on going with larger 6' stakes next season. Hammer them down 2' so they get past the raised bed and into the compacted native soil. I may also experiment with a 6' stake and tomato cage combo on a few.

    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

Thanks. Yea, I have to get out there and pick some pods. The problem is storing them. I have a dehydrator but it is small and not very powerful. As a result, it takes a while to dry my pods. Not really a big deal but I want to pick up a larger one for next season.

    Any updates on Josh?

I am glad all is well. Thanks. I took your advice partially and tide all my stakes together. The idea was that they would help support each other. You can check my grow log for pictures. Thanks for the well wishes. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hopefully all is well by now. Back in...

greenhouse Spicy Chicken's grow room and greenhouse makeover

The grow building is coming along nicely. I just thought I would point out that you are missing a fireman's pole and a slide. Who needs stairs... My family does a corn roast as well. I guess it is actually a corn steam. The corn is soaked overnight in water with the husk left on. We put a...

    CMPMAN1974's 2011 Growing Log - Started 1/29/11

They look nice to me. The original appears to be a bit gnarlier but who knows how much of a role differing weather conditions have played. All your photos look great Chris and thanks for doing what you do. You are right about the yellow bhuts. While yours look cool the original ones...

    Patrick's 2011 Grow Log

Looking good Patrick. When do you generally see your first frost? You usually cart your plants in and out of the garage in the Fall right?

Very nice. Those orange manzanos look pretty big. What is the story with the Costa Mosta?

    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

Here are some shots after I cleaned up and stood the plants back up. Not too bad. A few gaping holes here and there. You cannot really tell from the photos. Here is a shot of my Thai Super Hot. There honestly was no noticeable damage what so ever after the storm. Here is a somewhat...

    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

Here are some shots of my garden after Irene blew through. I didn't take pictures of the broken branches but there were a few. Several of those were large branches so that was a bit of a bummer. Also lost a few isolated pods on those branches. You may notice some white string...

    Josh's Plants & Pods 2011

No problem and good luck with everything. That's alright. It happens. They are a very cool looking variety. It is a shame I am not practiced at breeding. I think it would be cool to transfer its coloration to another variety. Thanks. It hit but the plants survived fairly well. Pictures...

So I may have done something awful or wonderful....

Were the cucumbers cut on the same cutting board as your peppers. There may have been some oil on the board.

On a side note, how are you PA guys fairing this week? My Aunt in Berwick says they got 10" of rain and are seeing flooding in nearby areas.

    Any updates on Josh?

Hey guys, I just saw this thread and wanted to hop on and let everyone know I am well. I haven't been on with an update just due to life's normal distractions. The plants survived Irene fairly well. Several plants were blown over and a bunch of branches were broken but it wasn't too bad...

    Hurricane Precautions

I just figured it would be futile with 80mph winds so I am doing nothing. I am sure my plants are going to be destroyed at which point I will probably be in this state of mind. Haha...

    Patrick's 2011 Grow Log

The plants look really healthy Patrick. Nice pod shots. Sorry to hear about the Brown 7. 1 pod per plant must be frustrating.

I love this time of year when you start posting all your new photos. I usually hit up your photobucket account during the winter. A nice pick me up during the depressing, cold months.
