Immature pods with undeveloped placentas, maybe. And, no. They were not yellow. They were red. The one that had heat was a long pointy one with red at the stem end and a green tip.

    chinense My first bhut jolokia

Ok, I take all that back. I was about to cook the three I had left, and I decided to lick the inside of one... just to make sure. I can tell you all they were the real deal. I just ate a few duds yesterday. My fingertips are freaking tingling and my whole body is trembling from the endorphin...

    chinense My first bhut jolokia

I ate one last night, and I was surprised that there was no heat at all. I was pissed off, to be honest. I ate three that I bought from the store, and none of them were any hotter than a spoonful of franks redhot. EDIT: They're the real deal. I tried another, larger, more mature pod.

    misc Mead

I'm sitting here enjoying a cool Minnesota evening. It's about 55 degrees, and the suns going down, so it's only getting colder. What's there to do tonight? Well, I don't have work in the morning, and I have an extra bottle of Chaucer's Mead sitting around. I guess I could get silly on honey...

    I survived my first Fatalli!

Eating it one half at a time, huh? I reckon that's no different than eating two (albeit small ones) on separate occasions.

Experiencing beer from other side of the world

I haven't ever been outside of the country (yet, I'm going to El Salvador in a week), but I tend to stay away from imported lagers. In my experience, they're never as fresh as American craft beers. I assume it's due to the travel they had to make to get to my glass. Ales, on the other hand, are...

    BEER!

I can't decide which of these beers I like better (as "go to" beers), Schell's pilsner, or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I guess both have their place (in my belly...)

Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!

Excellent point with the water. Sugar + alcohol = bad juju.

Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!

I haven't had CM in ages, but from what I remember, it just tastes way better. Sweeter, fuller bodied, and more "genuine" than regular CM.

Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!

Oh, I am as I'm typing this. It's much sweeter than I expected. Much better than regular CM.

Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!

Aye, mateys, the captain made port here in the twin cities to plunder, pillage, and most importantly... PARTY! And he brought a nice gift as well... This is going to be a nice night...

    Pliny the Younger

You'd be extremely lucky to find any, even at the closest liquor store to the brewery... That stuff flies off the shelves faster than rabbits fuck.

    spirits The Whisky Thread

Cracked open a bottle of Jameson Limited Reserve; an 18 year old blended whisky. By far the most expensive bottle I've ever bought at $80. Strangely, I taste tropical and citrus fruits upfront. I like it, but it's unlike any whisky I've ever had.
