    sphagnum moss question.

I've used pine with my blueberries, seems to be very slow working, but I did noticed the pot with the more pine had fewer weeds growing :) I'm hoping the moss should be slightly faster working as it doesn't need to break down, I've also switched to an ericaceous fertiliser. Another possible...

    sphagnum moss question.

Will a layer of sphagnum moss applies to the bases of my 'pot bound' chilli plants have a detrimental effect? I seem to have issues keeping the soil PH down on the pot bound chillies.

Atropa belladonna and other wild Nightshades

The bugs and rabbits love deadly nightshade, I'm not sure though with the henbane. Usually when I see henbane, which is quite rare, it's around farmland. I do have some bug riddled pictures I'll post later when I'm on the laptop :) I've been to Central Florida in July.. the bugs are huge out...

Atropa belladonna and other wild Nightshades

Those are wild plants. :) I think i actually remember reading about that chef incident a couple of years back.. Though I'm not sure what it was he was meant to say. Apparently they used to flavour beer with the seeds during the Middle Ages :D

Can I get help identifying the pepper plague in my plants?

I would presume so yes.. But that's the only one I've used. Regarding bacteria, I've read it can help prevent in some cases. Good luck :)

Atropa belladonna and other wild Nightshades

Grow henbane - it looks so much more awesome. We get both over here in UK as Nigel has said. I see deadly nightshade occasionally out on he downs, but black henbane is a little more rare. Henbane has awesome looking leaves and as it flowers it kind of snakes up, with stunning flowers...

    First Moruga Scorpion Pod.....

Looks like a baby T-Scorpion rather then a Moruga.   Last year i ended up with a freezer full of T-Scorps that i had bought under the name "Moruga"..  In the end i had to order some from the U.S.

Concerning sudden leaf problems.. suspect over fert

First I tested the new gizmos accuracy against a bag of the compost I use, the ph reading was as it should have been. The compost unused has a ph 5-6 - slightly acidic. After testing my plants I found most had 6-7 with a few having high 7's. There was plant in a 7 inch pot that acidic base...

I picked up moisture/ ph tester today at pretty good price. However regarding litmus paper, how does one go about testing the ph of the soil in pot bound plants? Do you measure the ph of the water running of at a watering or is it done another way? :)

I'm not surprised at all.. the water reservoirs are stored in chalk downs. Some times the tap water can come really chalky looking, the picture below was what was coming out the taps at work a few back. Admittedly that was quite an extreme example hence me taking pictures of it  :surprised: ...

This is my 5th year growing chilies and only the second time I've had a fertilizer problem... I've used the same compost from the same people year in year out, its normally pretty good (without the need for extra fertilizer). I'm really not sure why i even put fertilizer in my younger plant's...

    Leaf Burn?

I have that same thing happening to some of my leaves at the moment.., the darkening & shriveling... Regarding the black stuff I to have that on some of my leaves.. At first I thought it might be fungal but it scrapes of easily so I'm guessing it's bug crap. Also the undersides of the leaves...

Out of curiosity I did a little digging and found this info from our local water company regarding calcium. Mg/l CaCO3 ppm CaCO3 "290" Mg/l Calcium "116.1" There are a few other figures too... So unless I'm reading it wrong that would be 116mg of available calcium per litre of tap...

Question & an evil looking pod.

I guess it's plausible. :-) Could it also be that they're the first wave of pods and just look different? Not uncommon with chins I find.

That last plant is one of 5 plants that where originally screaming out for fertiliser... The 2 TS responded well to the miracle grow, the Dorset Naga not so well, however after the tomato feed it was ok. The red Savina seems unresponsive to anything I've given it! :-/ And finally that plant...
