    Quick advice

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotyledon   For fans you may try college dorms near the end of the semester, especially when graduates leave.  They throw away almost all their belongings to move on.  Can find dorm refrigerators also lol.

    Low Temperature in Growbox.

I have a 4 foot, 8 bulb, T5 HO 6500k bulbs light unit i bought this year.  I use panda cloth to reflect light back (white side) and use some scraps to line the counter top (black side) which heats up the cups I'm growing in.  Sometimes I will not turn on the fan and it gets pretty toasty in the...

    seeds Seeds not germinating! Help!

They don't need light at all until they are up and out of the husk.  If you have small droplets forming on the dome and not constant running down the side but some runs every once in a while, I would say the heat level is fine.  I water mine well but not super waterlogged when putting the seed...

    Quick advice

I was told last year to keep my light closer to the plants so they won't try to leg out as much. Mine will get a purple colored suntan also from the lights.  Keeps them nice and short and the leaves get bigger.  I always clip the cotlydons after a point because once they get some growth to the...

    MOA's

Try leaving your terrarium dome on the top. Use a toothpick to get a droplet of water hanging on it, and transfer that droplet to the helmet head so it sticks onto it.  Give it a day or possibly 2 in the dome.  It will shed itself or be so soft it will come up rather easily.  Is what I did to...

    Too much manure?

I would worry more about the horse piss (ammonia) concentration in it if it was never cleaned out.  I used to clean out horse stalls as a kid and the ammonia headaches were fierce.  Dried cow patties would probably have much less piss on them.

    seeds Seeds not germinating! Help!

I direct sow my seeds in solo cups and use a clear solo cup that i cut the top 1/2 inch off of and turn it upside down to make a small terrarium dome. You don't need light to germ seeds just some heat.  However I did put mine under the lights since my T5 HO lights give off some nice heat and i...

    Pinching Flowers

My mom had a banana pepper plant last year, she refused to clip blooms or top.  She ended up with a foot and half tall plant for entire year that barely produced.

pests Bugs in my drip cups

I had fungus gnats last year outside, since it rained a lot during our spring.  I used fine playground sand and just put a layer about 1/2-1 inch thick on the top of the soil.  Gnats couldn't get to the good stuff or moisture and never came back.  Was cheap and easy tip from somebody here on the...

Easier to harden off come springtime with some UV chips on my LED?

It seems a lot of people just refer to sunlight when hardening off their plants.  I am fairly new to growing as it is only my 2nd year but it seems there are more factors.    ~Sun ~Temperature ~Humidity ~Wind ~Smog? ~Type of plant   My first year last year, I had a terrible time trying to harden...

seeds Seeds germinating with seed coat still over cotyledons

Only my 2nd year of growing.  What I have done with few helmet heads this year is leave the dome on for a day maybe 2 after they sprouted.  Use a toothpick to get a droplet of water on it, and touch it to the helmet to get the droplet hanging on the husk.  Put the dome back on, do it once or...

    I have sprouts

I remove my dome once they sprout.  Unless they have a helmet head, in which case I leave the dome on for another day or so.  And use a toothpick to get a little condensation off the sides of the dome, and stick a water droplet on the husk to hang there and put dome back on.  It usually shucks...

    Fox Farms Ocean Forest?

Question.... are the stems on your plants purple also? Did it take them a while longer than expected to germinate?    My plants have this "browning" or what I see as purple coloring on stems and leaves.  If yours are the same as mine (i'm using Happy Frog, with no smells or problems), try...

    seeds MOA Scotch Bonnet seeds

I bought seeds from Juanitos last year and highly recommend him.  They had a high germination rate, still great germination rate this year also.  He is super easy to work with and sends quality products.  He also sent me some seeds for reapers that were just a bonus, which I gave to a friend to...

    Twiasp Glog

So plants got very leggy for my first year growing.  Had to keep them at parents house, and my mom wouldn't put them into the sun like i kept telling her too.  Once in the sun they instantly started blooming and producing, she says she has learned her lesson lol.  So starting to get peppers now )

    Mycorrhiza

I have seen several things that people use on here for Myco as far as brands Great White, Mykos, etc....  I was wondering what you all think of Myco and your personal experiences.  I used it on a few plants this year and it seemed to have a noticeable positive effect on the plants it was used...
