The bottom pics are edema. It can happen easily indoors (temp/humidity balance). If they were just moved outside they may have had it before the move. Overwatering can be a cause as well as other condition issues.

Ask your coworker how they use it, since they are familiar with the compost. If they don't use it in pots, ask how thick they lay it on their beds (how many square feet do they cover with a yard?).

The Brainstrain Yellow and Carbon x BBG7 are duking it out for hardest "Y". The Brainstrain has the advantage in girth and purpling. The Carbon x BBG has a much lower split and nicer symmetry.

The top link is the jar I was eyeing up the most. SKS has them for half that price but is out of sifter caps till August. I order a dozen of the second link. I sent them back as the caps didn't latch shut.
