    fertilizer what fertilizer now

Sounds like they're already loaded up with nutes to me.  Peppers don't need much.  Leave them alone for a month and see what you've got.  After that maybe just hit them once a month with a diluted mix of that MG you already have.  Sunshine & water - that's 90% of it IMO.

    Growing Chillies for 2013

Plants look incredible - tremendous growth for this time of year - especially in the UK.  Very nice work.

chinense I "NEED" a good red c. chinense. Which is the most prolific?

+1 - I grew them a few years ago and a 5 gallon container made over 200 pods. Great pepper - heat, flavor and production. And versatile - you can use it in almost any type of dish.

    favorite Your Favorite Peppers?

Giant Bhut, Fatalii, Serrano, Jalapeno and Mariachi. I love the Scorpions and 7 Pots too, but they're just too hot to eat on a regular basis.

Root Pouches--More Evidence That They Work!

I used Root Pouches for the 1st time last year and they did well, compared to my black plastic 5 gal containers. I'm going to put my best Giant Bhut seedling this year in a 15 gal Root Pouch - I expect a big, productive plant.

seeds Are seeds from green jolokia pods usable?

Hey BC, I always thought dark seeds were starting to rot, so I don't know about your theory. I know I avoid eating them. Maybe the dark ones are just super viable - I guess you'll find out. As far as green pods, if you have a grocery bag full of pods, just save a bunch of seeds. Even green...

    A dumb question but hopefull

IMO the Cayenne pod should be slightly bigger and longer when mature. You're going to have to wait a while.

Thanks Greg - I still have a bunch of your seeds to discover next year. Your Mariachis were a big hit - I love that pepper! Serrano Tampiqueno was also a huge success and is the perfect Serrano IMO - great flavor and loaded with heat. One of these days I'll experiment with relishes and...

chinense Taste testing Moruga Scorpions and Brain Strains

Any Brain Strain taste is fleeting......your mouth is incinerated so fast that taste buds surrender quickly. Brain Strains are best suited for powder to cook with. Anything else is just masochism.

    annuum Scary Jalapenos

Everything I grew this year was hotter than normal, even my Mariachis had decent heat when ripe. Biker Billy Jalapenos have the most consistent heat of any variety I've grown.

    Jay's Ghost Scorpion - Joyner's Hot Pepper

Very nice job on the pics. Certainly one of the more unique pods I've seen in a while. Great information on avoiding frost damage too. I will use that for sure to extend my season a litlle.

RE: Morouga - I can't say they taste like peaches to me, but next time I try one I'll have to take notice. I plan on overwintering a few this year as well, especially my 4 plants in root pouches - I have a feeling they will do well. I got two 15 gallon root pouches for next year, can't wait to...

Butch T Scorpion Same Butch T pod as above - closer pic. I love the look of these pods when they have green stingers. While they look great, they're too hot to eat except in tiny pieces. Less aroma and flavor, but hotter than the Morouga IMO and rivaling Brain Strain heat. I'll be freezing...

No more nutes, period. Leave it alone. Water it when it needs water. It will be fine.

I gave the Butch T pod away to a buddy, so I'll have to get back to you on that. Might have to wait for some fresh Brains to give an accurate comparison. My recollection of Brains from a few years ago was just pure heat - aroma was strong, flavor just OK. Bhut & Fatalii are kings of flavor...
