How much wind and cold damage can pepper plants take?

I potted up my plants into 2/3/5 gallon pots, and took around just over a week or so of slowly putting them outside for more and more time, exposing them to more and more sun, in an attempt to harden them off.   I went away for two days, so I left them outside hoping they would be okay, but I...

Weird cuts or bites in leaves?

My balcony constantly has pretty high winds.    I don't recall noticing it last year, but I only had 4 plants last year that were bought from a nursery. These were all grown from seed this time, so maybe I didn't harden off well enough?

Weird cuts or bites in leaves?

Hmm I've never seen birds really around my balcony, but maybe they come when I'm not home, or at night :(.    Is there anything that can be done to prevent it? Or is it just one of those things I shouldn't worry about too much?   Thanks again!

Weird cuts or bites in leaves?

Hi, I have roughly 60 pepper plants out on my balcony. Some of them have started to exhibit bites or tears on their leaves recently. You can see them here: http://imgur.com/a/BPBJJ   I was wondering if this could be due to pests? I don't see anything when I go out there and look on the leaves...

    Leaves turning White/Light Brown?

Ya, they were just watered after 2-3 days.   I used Pro-Mix Vegetable Soil.   I think the consensus is probably that I worry too much, being my first real growing season (last year I only bought decently sized seedlings). So I'll just sit tight and hope for the best!

    Leaves turning White/Light Brown?

I started at 1 hour, and increased by 30 mins each day. I'm up to about 4 hours now.   Its kind of variable when I put them out though... if I work from home, and on weekends, I do it mid-afternoon when the sun is more intense. But generally during the week (like today), its more during the...

    Leaves turning White/Light Brown?

Hi, My plants were started indoors, next to a sunny window in my room that gets a ton of sunlight. Last week I started hardening them off, increasing the time they get outside by 30 minutes each day.   Lately I stated to notice a few of my peppers had something weird going on with their leaves...

seeds Growing pepper seedling in a cup of water?

Just incase anyone is wondering, here's a picture of my Shot glass Jalapeno.     Debating moving it to a bigger cup soon, but the roots still have a bit of room to grow in there. Started a second one next to it there with some "Lantern Chili" I had two of in one pod.   Yellowfin2na: Are the...

seeds Growing pepper seedling in a cup of water?

Hi,   I had two jalapenos that sprouted in the same cell. Right as it's first true leaves start showing, I gently dug/pulled one out by the cotyledons and managed to keep the root system and leaves intact.   I have taken cuttings of my rubber plant before, where I just let the cutting sit in...

Can Myco Blast hurt my plant?

The more I read about bacterial wilt, the more it sounds like it. This one site says "Wilting begins at one end of the plant and eventually spreads until the whole plant collapses", which looks like exactly what is happening.    There's apparently a test you can do as well where you cut off a...

Can Myco Blast hurt my plant?

Hi Joyner,   If it is infact bacterial wilt, do you know what I could do to potentially save this plant? Or is that a type of disease that would make it salvageable?   Also, what could cause it? I believe my roommate pruned that part of the plant back at one point, maybe at one of the stems...

Can Myco Blast hurt my plant?

This is Myco Blast just for anyone that was wondering: http://parkseed.com/myco-blast-biological-root-inoculant-single-packet/p/30949/   Scuba Steve, thanks for the explanation, that actually does make some good sense!   I was always under the impression that the overwintered plants didn't need...

Can Myco Blast hurt my plant?

Hi,   First time poster, long time reader!   I recently ordered a bunch of seeds online, and with them came this Myco Blast product, which from what I can tell, is supposed to help strengthen your plant.   I currently 1 thai chili plant that I actually managed to overwinter from last summer and...
