Plants FINALLY starting to get some fruit - How late in the season is "too late"?

Well here's hoping we get a long "Indian summer" like we often do!   My GUESS is nighttime temps won't drop below about 35 until late October... But who knows.   Back to studying recipe's for my first few peppers, LOL!

Growing Piper Longum (Long Pepper) in grey skied, damp, cool, coastal climate?

No offense taken! I am indeed completely aware of that...   :P That's why I posted in this here "Other" category.  I figured, it was only an extra $3 to try something different along with the varieties of peppers-peppers I got seeds for.

Ha!  Got another pic to work! (having trouble with my image host...) This is a Grandpa's, and the peppers have gotten bigger than a pencil eraser now!

Plants FINALLY starting to get some fruit - How late in the season is "too late"?

Started the plants indoors in late January, under grow lights indoors until early to mid May (night temps still in the low 40's).  Managed to overwater, overfertilize, or sunburn to death about half of my seedlings. The survivors went outdoors in early June.     Plant are 12" to 20" tall.  I...

Growing Piper Longum (Long Pepper) in grey skied, damp, cool, coastal climate?

I bought some peppers seeds online, and spotted these "Piper peepuloides - Long Pepper" seeds. Well, they were advertised as "Piper Longum", but the package says "Piper Peepluloides" - whatever, I'm getting off track.   I live in Far-Northern, Very Coastal, Damp, Grey, Summer-High-Temps of 70...

Plants FINALLY starting to get some fruit - How late in the season is "too late"?

I'm in Far-Northern Very-Coastal California, and our summer has been grey overcast, 63 degrees to 70 degrees for daily HIGH temps.  We're finally getting some nice days, and my pepper plants (types in a moment) are starting to sprout little fruit-ses!   I have; Maule's peppers Grandpa's Peppers...

Those weren't Habenero seeds, apparently... what could these be?

So... planted some "Habenero" seeds from Dollar Tree (all my other seeds came from better vendors, and look like they're supposed to - these were just a "oh, what the heck.." impulse purchase).   Lost a couple plants to sunburn, and one to over fertilizing... ooops..    The three survivors are...

    Why are the tops yellowing?

"Here is a Google PHoto's shared album (I cannot for the life of link pictures directly from Google Photo's and it's my only pic sharing account presently...)"   Reading comprehension, not snark.

    Why are the tops yellowing?

Huh...  Overwatered?  Well, the Dill in the pot right next to 'em told me it was UNDER-watered.  Wish these plants would make up their mind!  ;) I will try not watering so often, and also not using "tap water" without a day or so to sit in a bucket. Weather report says rain later this week...

    Why are the tops yellowing?

Pretty wet spring, plus watering at least once a week... so it shouldn't be underwatering. OVER watering I might buy.. Iron deficiency? Hmmm... I'll see if anything I've been using has some iron, or if I have any nice rusty nails! (Mostly kidding on the nails... unless it would work?)

bottling Need a "double check" of my food safety for bottling this sauce...

Thanks for the tips! Plastic caps, won't BWB those again.. (seem to be OK this time, though).   Pulled them out after just a few minutes. Just wanted to get the blast of steam from fogging my glasses up before I tried pulling them all out, LOL.   This batch tastes pretty good, but is awfully...

    Why are the tops yellowing?

For the past few weeks, some of my pepper plants (this is my first year growing 'em) have started to get yellow tops... These are Maules peppers, and Serrano's and one Tian Tsin.   I have added some Epsom Salts last week, early, and no apparent effect. I added some bone meal ( 3-15-0 ) last...

bottling Need a "double check" of my food safety for bottling this sauce...

This is actually a "practice" batch for what I hope to make at the end of summer and then give as Christmas gifts.   I have my fermented "mix" (dried peppers, mango, onion, garlic, etc) having fermented for 30 days.  I Ph tested the liquor on top ( 2.8 ).   I used StarSan sanitizer (from my home...

What are these Tian Tsin leaves showing symptoms of?

Thanks all! Tried to get a pic of the underside of the leaf, but it's now too dark and my phone is taking dark pictures (naturally!).  The undersides of the leaves look normal.   Sunburn?!?!  Wow... I think that plant got a whole two hours of afternoon sun.  And not that nice hot SOUTHERN...
