So much has changed since I was on here regularly...!

    1. Does the amount of pics I can post drop as I post them?  I think I had 10mg available a few days ago, and now it seems I can post 8.5mgs..   2. My pics are often published in landscape format which is unpleasant on the eye if unplanned. How can I change this? Hope you don't mind all the...

    condiment Easy Salsa

Made the salsa, but not at all impressed with my results... :tear:   Had no food processor, so blended the 'maters and the result was much too much liquid...   Heat was non-existant, though I'm sure that will change as the contents drop towards the hots and supers at the bottom. (I'm actually...

    Bhuter's 2018 Glog

Lovely looking plants there, Bhuter!   Always strange seeing plants at this growth-stage whilst my own season comes to a close, but I plan to plant again in July - indoors - so there's not long to wait. I've been out of the hobby for a while now and you have some new and very interesting species...

seed-train Signup for the 2018 mega seed train!

No permits are required for any type of seed to SA, but I certainly do get the expense issue...   Our tomato seeds are all standard envelopes, not small packages,

    seed-train European Seed train...

Now that IS interesting!   Did it get as far as the US?   Would you guys be willing to include South Africa next time?

seed-train Signup for the 2018 mega seed train!

Nice short answer...   I guess I should have asked if this train includes countries other than US.   I am part of a regular tomato seed train, and it certainly does work.

heat What's the hottest thing you're growing this year?

No-one seems to grow Dorset Nagas here? Well, superhot seeds in South Africa are superhard to find, but a local nursery did have a young plant back in early Spring  (August for me) and I managed to keep it alive and finally harvested around 30 of the fruit which are way hotter than anything I'm...

    blenders Immersion Blender advice

Blendtec and Vitamix are probably the best blenders in the world, but are not immersion blenders.   For those, you can do far worse than the Swiss-made Bamix. We've sold blenders for years and whilst Bamix is an opposition product, it's simply bloody marvellous!

Thanks - if we have time to grow some before it turns too cold, I'll post flower pics...

plant Planted as Medusa...but it's not.

Sadly not.   It's the end of our growing season so we have been nipping buds and flowers regularly to encourage ripening of the fruit.   Fruit is growing upwards, if it's not clear. I had no idea the pics would end up on their sides when publishing...sorry.  ;)   Not a Poblano or Rocoto, perhaps?

plant Planted as Medusa...but it's not.

Obviously had some seeds get mixed up some years ago, so whilst three bushes are Medusa, this one is not...   Any ideas on ID? Fruit is 2" long.   Interesting in it's own right is the fact that all four bushes (and some others) are from seeds that were ten years old! None of the superhots I...

    Picklese...You Have To Try This!!!

Like most other folk reading this thread, I really did have to give it a try, particularly when there was no cooking involved, and here it is -    I did manage to get some cool pouring jars which will make life easier I reckon, and I went with cloves of garlic as well as cloves of...well cloves...
