2011 Grow log

Starting out w/ a seed that just popped after being underground for > a month. I put both serrano seeds and jalapeno seeds in this pot. They didn't seem to sprout so I forgot about them. I'd be happy w/ either one because that would make the 4th different strain that I've grown. Already had some success w/ Kung Pao, phrik khi nu, & Hab's

Choc hab just got potted-up to bigger container. Will know by tomorrow if its OK. One time I potted-up too early and the seedling couldn't take the shock or I might've damaged a portion of the root.

This is the one I'm pretty excited about, a bhut jolokia. My 1st superhot  One still has the seedcap on but I'm keeping it moist as another THP user mentioned

oh yes,

those sure are cool peppers, huh?

please feel motivated to place some in the midst of those stupid yellow flowers
we see in the courtyard like josh, (and OTHERS) has/have suggested instead of killing them

you're a student, make due with what is available (IMPROVISE)

Only thing is, I have access to that area during the day, as all who live here do but, they lock it up tight at night and it has a fence w/ spear-like looking points on the top. Scary stuff. You aren't into guerrilla gardening?

Update to my venerable grow-log :D

Here's my Rocoto that over-took the sunburnt one that I placed out in direct sunlight b4 hardening-off

Here's the Rocoto that got sunburnt & dropped all the leaves. I basically pruned off all the bad leaves and it's looking a lot better:

I'm doing something wrong w/ this Rocoto. I did have it in a small pot w/ another Rocoto for a while so that might've affected it. Don't think I've been over or under-watering it but that is a possible reason i guess. Too much sunlight perhaps?:

Here's the super-hot seedlings and some Habanero's:

My Fresno seedling almost died the other day. Brought it back to life by thoroughly watering it, placing it outside in the shade, then blasting-it w/ some CFL last night :) :woohoo: Pics to follow.

Here's the Fresno. the other day it withered down to nothing but now it seems to be coming back.

Here's an update on the Rocoto's. This one was yellow from the start. They seem to be coming back somewhat and getting more green (it has a sister plant in another pot). I did give them a couple of waterings of diluted MirGro though:

Here's the oldest one that I had to prune down to basically the stem & start over after I put it out on the patio in full-sun w/o hardening it off first:

Here's the 2nd oldest one that I didn't burn so it's overtaking the oldest plant:

Here's a strain of a phrik khi nu (?) that I got from dried pods for consumption at a Thai grocer (I did pot-it-up 5 minutes after taking this pic) :

Odd thing is, I've never fed this plant and grew it in a pretzel jar (it was over-wintered and was originally in a 'proper" pot though) The picture of health

My Nambe Pueblo. This plant seems to take care of itself. All I've done is occasionally water it and it does the rest :) :

looking good dot dude

thanks for the pepper porn

the pubes are always finicky

one may like those conditions and it's sister may like something different

the only way to find out is experimenting, when you find just what it wants it will explode

your plantings are looking better every update

good work giving good results :woohoo:

I'm very excited about it. First season to grow super-hots. Only thing is I'm limited to a few hrs of sun/day this time of year. My window faces south, overlooking those stupid yellow flowers in the courtyard, and the sun is rather high in the sky. Next season, I'll get some lights to make up for the dearth of sunlight.

Only one I'm having trouble w/ is the Douglah. Zero germination rate so far :( I still have to sprout another 7-pod too as the 1st one didn't make it I think.

Here's the rocoto's. Seems once they get the canopy/lateral- growth started, they do alright. Thanks again to nitwit ;) :
