I can supply the Aji Cito seeds, but will need to get them posted pretty quick so get voting

I also have no issue if we go with something else, but will need to order in good time as it takes ages to get to NZ

If you vote 'Something Else' post a suggested variety

Small update.

The last few days have seen the temps here cooling down. About 24°c during the days and dropping to 18° or so at night.

It has rained for a couple of days and is forecast for another week of rain. The rain and cool is welcome but it is not doing the plants too many favors.

Ripe pods are getting smaller.

11 pods for 15g.

Total: 300 pods for 804g

I just went back through this thread to the middle of December to try to get some totals together, if there are any before that I am not going back any further.

Life has been really busy here lately for sure..

I haven't given up, in fact my plant just hit real dirt this week. Hopefully it will kick some bhut here shortly...one can always hope

Another small update.

Tiny pods this time. Looking at the plant, I still have plenty of the large pods on it but it seems that only these small ones are ripening for now.

Also a few of them lost to the fruit fly, but the rain we have been having washes the spray away so it could have been worse.

314 pods for 821g.

Update time.

I still have lots of good sized pods on the plant, but the little ones on there are ripening much more quickly.

The fruit fly has come back with a bit of a vengeance. It is because of the rain we have been having here, it washes away the spray I have been using so the plants are pretty much unprotected.

Plus a photo of what must be close to the biggest pod I have harvested, next to the smallest I have harvested.

Total of 356 pods for 878g

Just a couple of pics. The Aji Cito is really getting big and droopy . I will have to get a bit more support a.s.a.p. . Pods are also getting much bigger due to more acceptable tempratures , still hot , but not above 32 Celsius .

Will do a harvest and weight in tonight if time allows it.

That's pretty huge. Mine is tall but constrained to about 1m by 1m to fit in my moderate sized greenhouse.

Do the fruit go off if they stay on the plant? I've found that with jalapenos you need to pick red fruit within a few days of it ripening or it starts going soft. The citos are more waxy so I wonder if they'd be ok on the plant longer.

Well done! That plants a monster!

Here's my gal, not happy yet. It hated the last 30 days in solitary confinement...

Any plans yet for a 2019 growdown? I'm so keen to give it a go.
Yes,
rumours so far, grow anything you want , highest total weight wins.

P.S.  Only in 20 liter pot in soil or grow medium . Just check with the others.

You are really setting the bar there Jacques. Will they still ferment OK after they have been frozen?

Another 37 pods from me, 63g. Only 3 have been stung by the fruit fly since the rains have stopped and I can spray again.

393 for 941g

26 pods for 52g

419 for 993g

My plant is still loaded with pods and even growing new flowers, but the temps here have dropped by +10°C over the last couple of weeks so I don't think it will last for much longer.

i have been a bit lazy with supporting my plant and finally got around to tying it up. its has to be 2m tall now and absolutely loaded with pods. like Bob it has really cooled off in North east victoria and we almost had a frost the other morning. I'm just hoping to get another nice pick off of it before the frost gets it.

i did pick a few pods a week ago for hot sauce ferment but i forgot to weigh them.
