7 Pots & Scotch Bonnets (2018- )

I realized I soaked 4 each instead of 3  I left 1 in the soaking cups on paper towels, using the method in this thread.

Where did you get those cups?

Day 6, SB Beth Boyd popped. Today, Safi Red & Peach Bhut.
Also, a Scotch Brains (7 Pot pheno) broke ground yesterday, and I can see the cotyledons trying to pull up.
I started them earlier, still waiting on 10 more all in a different cup.

All right!  You're seeing some good action already.  Glad to see that SBCap poking through.  Looking like I'll be growing that one this season too - hadn't been expecting to - so I'm interested to see how yours gets going.  Hopefully it's a strong performer because it's a great looking pod.

Seems like you put a reasonable thickness of towel underneath the seeds in your poly-ports.  How often do you find you need to mist them to keep them from going dry on the bottom?

For 12 cups I used 4 half-sheets cut into thirds then folded into sixths to fit. Wetted and pressed out as much water as I could. 3 times, I've given them 2 drops from a pipette. I think I could water more liberally. There's no water against the bottoms. It condenses all around the top and sides. The paper has remained evenly moist.

2 SBCap sprouted in the tray (first to germinate with both methods).
Removed the dome; put the tray under led panel.
Schneider Farm popped and went into a cup. So far, 6/12.

addendum: WHP bonnet yesterday eve, BOCxBS and boatman this morning (cups).

The tray germinated 4. Chalk it up to the unfamiliar potting mix. I'm still glad I erred on the side of caution. Looking at the others, they don't have tails. So, I think they weren't wet enough and went into secondary dormancy. I'm soaking them to be sewn again. Hopefully they are primed and ready to sprout with improved vigor. If not, I still have those from the cups. I moved 6 seedlings straight to solo cups.

Last night I started soaking Scotch Brains, BOC, Safi Red, and Orangegum TigerMAMP. 3 each in powdered kelp solution.
This morning, Scotch Brains has germinated. Over 10 days in a cup. I'm very pleased.  Words cannot describe.
BOC is the only holdout. 11/12 success with cups...

Had some fun reading this one...

This morning, Scotch Brains has germinated. (I got this far and was like, overnight!?! where do I get this special kelp powder?)  Over 10 days in a cup. I'm very pleased.  Words cannot describe.

Then I read on and realized the SB's and BOC's soaked last night were different seeds, probably back-fills started with the new batch.

Congrats on your success!  Will really be something if that BOC does its thing and delivers for 12 of 12.

The bigguns haven't been watered since a few days before pot up on the 23rd. I observed roots at the drain holes about 12 days after that. Now, I've decided it's time to water them in with AACT. Even if the pots are still damp, I figure an oxygen-rich tea with beneficials can only help.

Nice work! I need to get into aact.

I got your envelope ready, will hit the p.o. tomorrow
Thankyou thankyou!
Since you just sterilized your FFOF mix, it's a perfect time to use some sort of microbial inoculant.
I'm sure you've got something lined up for that.
