'79 Marshall Porn

Hey ya'll once again from the big dry ditch here in Las Vegas. I have been pining for a Marshall amp either a 2204 JMP master vol. or a 4 holer Plexi and finally decided on the 2204. I picked up this week a '79 JMP 2204 Marshall 50w and added a 1960 Classic straight cab loaded with 25 greenback Celestions. Plug in a Les Paul and you have Biily G's "La Grange" in spades. Opt for the V wipe the floor with hippy's butts!

Here's some pretty pics of the new sheriff in town...

Smile for the camera!

Cavity shot...check out the matched Ruby el34's! V1,V2 and V3 are JJ's.

Cheers ya'll, TB.

mmmmmm tubes :)

cheers for keepin it real, mate.

jeers for hatin on the hippies. ;) some of em ain't too bad.

those tubes just remind me that i still need to repair my old turntable. 1930s job from Montgomery Ward. It powers up, but does nothing else.

Now post up some MP3s of that Marshall or this thread is completely useless.

Fex...thanks. The lo input is not working properly so I am going to give the amp to my tech after the New Year. Although I have brand new JJ's in V1, 2 & 3, and Ruby's for el34's, V1 is an ecc81 which is a reverb/phase tube. No reverb on this amp so...it's going to the vet. I should have it back the first week after the new year. I got my gal an new camcorder for Christmas so hope to put up some vids once the amp is back.

Cheers ya'll, TB.

That's awesome! A Hammond B200 with some Leslies would fit nicely!

I'll see your Hammond and raise you a Rhodes 88. I also dig an old B3. Actually those keys I probably would run those from either a Fender Bandmaster or a Super Twin.

Cheers, TB.

Nowadays all sounds can be produced digitally. A 500 $ laptop can do more than a Fairlight could in the eightees. And still the original equipment with strings and wooden bodies and tubes has the better vibes. They will never be able to replace it.

Nice arsenal you seem to have! How many garage bands could you equip?

Just one. The Marshall completes the amp lineup (for now). I still want a Plexi. 6 amps, 10 guitars in the Blues Kitchen. Always room for one more. Too many effects and other wham whams and zuzu's to list.

Cheers, TB.

Hey ya'll..after wrestling with the camera for 2 hours I finally managed to figure the 'thang out without smashing it to bits. Here's a short clip of me wanking on the V plugged straight into the Marshall, no chaser...a little sloppy but who cares..all about the tone baby..
Cheers, TB.

I wasn't really able to get the "destruction" tone as the room I have the amp in has heaps of natural reverb and echo which overloads the mic, hence not allowing me to crank it up and achieve the true Marshall tone. I need to deaden the room and eliminate that aspect. I'll get this camera 'thang down though and post some better vids of the guitar and amp.

Cheers, TB.

nice TB...the lead player in our band back in the early 70s played thru a les paul through a marshal stack....great tone....everyone else used fender twin reverbs...I played an SG
