9/11. I haven't forgotten.

Remember when you heard? What you were doing? For those that fell that day, celebrate their lives.
I remember one brave man who's bravery inspires me......

Todd Beamer on United Flight 93...."you guys ready? Let's roll...."

Todd and a group of passengers then stormed the cockpit to gain control of the aircraft and in doing so the plane crashed into the ground, killing all onboard. This unselfish act of bravery thwarted the terrorist plans of crashing Flight 93 into the White House.

God Bless You!

Good stuff TB. I have been right near there in Somerset, PA. I plan to visit that memorial whenever I get back that way. I watched the movie they made about flight 93 and it was a fitting tribute. We will never forget. God bless everyone who lost loved ones on that fateful day.

Yes. I remember. I can't go a day without hearing politicians bring it up. Why don't we also remember all the other horiible stuff that's happened. Oh that's right, because it was a vehicle to propigate war and the slaughter of millions of innocent people and if you go about your business then you might question motivations and then you aren't living in constant FEAR!!!! FEAAAAARRRR!!!!

I'm sorry, but what this country has done (well, the United States of America have a long history of it), especially in the last 8 years disgusts me.

It's very sad that people lost their lives that day (regardless of who you think did it) and I have morned their loss.

Ok, that was typed on the fly, sorry, I ment to say hundreds of thousands. And those would be the citizens of Iraq, Afganistan, US and their allies (although, when you enlist I don't feel that you are innocent anymore but the deaths are a tragic loss non the less). Not to mention of people that will continued to be mutilated for generations to come by the use of DU (which is outawed by the Geniva Convention mind you) both on the US and forign side. Factor in the trade winds and well, the alot of the world has now been exposed. Thanks, appreciate that guys, nice work....

oh gosh and golly........My finger is hanging nervously over the button guys.......All is still good :) but just remember the rules.....

;)

I will never forget this day. I was a resident in internal medicine in that time and I heard the news on my oncology ward. My wife for some reason had called her sister in law in Alabama and during that phone call she saw the first aircraft crash into the WTC on TV and while discussing this as may be an accident the news of the second plane came in and they both agreed that this could not be an accident. Soon after that the connection was gone and they didn't get in contact again for hours. In 2003 we found an iron cast memorial bell showing the fire fighters raising the flag. We bought it in a collectibles shop in Lynchburg, TN. Since that time this bell hangs in our kitchen. On every September 11th, not this year cos we aren't at home, my now 7 years old son is supposed to ring that bell. He knows a lot about it.
My wife and me are both former EMTs so we especially mourn for the EMTs, fire fighters and policemen fallen on duty.

One year before 911, on September 11th 2000, my sister took a flight back to Germany from JFK after a short vacation!

Whether you agree with the reaction to 9-11 or not, the purpose of TB's post is to recognize and remember the tragedy that occurred on that day and the heroes that stood up during and after the terrorists acts. It's not about politics, it's about the people that died and those that remained and lost loved ones. Don't worry Moyboy, this thread is safe.

Sorry guys. I didn't mean this thread to inflame, but rather to simply recognize and ponder for a moment those that had fallen. Moy, THP, if you feel this thread should be removed, I understand.

TB.

No this thread is fine as far as I'm concerned and it's good and fair to respect the affected people living and dead......

I will say one thing.

In the years since this tragic incident, the loss of lives have now become a global scale.

We (Australia) have troops in other countries as an indirect result of 9/11 and we have lost many a great soilder as a result (and the same would go for UK, France, and other UN countries that I can't remember)..

I guess what i'm saying is that the world has and still is feeling the pain from 9/11. It really was a day were the whole world lost all inoccence all at once, and that's a sad thought.

I remember seeing it on TV. if I'm not mistaken the second hit was live.
None of us had a clue WTF is going on... just couldn't believe anyone would dare such a thing. been to the site many times, and it hurts the same every time.

Thank God it is a peaceful time, but I remember when people were afraid walking down the streets. I won't pretend to understand, but I know this is a painful event. as people grow from that and learn, not just how to defend, but to cherish life.

I wish nothing but best to the families and may the memory of those who perished be blessed. may we never have to suffer such a thing again.

Remember when you heard? What you were doing?

I was driving a public transport bus between the towns Luleå and Boden all that day. I heard the first reports on my second trip which was that an airplane had crashed into one of the towers, at first the people on the radio assumed it was an amateur pilot in something like a Cessna.

I was at the train station in Boden when the second plane hit.

We were not allowed to play the radio for the passengers on those busses because no matter what channel we had on someone would take offence. That day I broke the rule, I turned it up really good. No one complained. In fact, not many words where spoken on my bus that day.

That day was the first time terrorism came close. As I have mentioned I spent a year on Long Island as an exchange student, and the father of the family I stayed with worked in lower Manhattan. I've been there more times than I can remember. The Twin Towers were so familiar to me that I didn't even look at them. They hit in a place where I felt comfortable and safe - as safe as you can be in Manhattan that is;)

I hope that the people left behind has been able to go on with their lifes and been able to find happines.

The crimes agains humanity and common sense that has since been commited can be criticised on another day - there are 364 days for that.

I clearly remember seeing it on tv. At first I just couldn't believe it. I will never forget it.
Just one year earlier I was on holiday in New York with my grandmother (her last holiday before she got sick) and we ate something in the restaurant at the top of the world trade center.

As a result of this we (the netherlands) helped in Iraq and we are still in Afghanistan. This week we lost the 21st soldier over there.

I watch the memorial service every year in honor of all who lost their lives that day.

My TV went south and, as a result, I didn't even know about 9-11 until 9-13 because I was even too broke to go out drinking that year. :( Was in an internet cafe and pulled up CNN.com and said really loud "Is this shit real?" and 2 guys behind me replied "Where have you been living? On the moon?"

I'll NEVER forget that day !! I was doing some mixing in my humble studio and the TV was on with no volume. Then all of a sudden I saw a plane slam into a building !! Totally unreal !! Up went the volume ...... then another plan crashed into another building.

I like to think of myself as a man of peace. I'm not a racist at heart . I could care less about the shade of your skin or the color of your eyes. The content of your heart and your actions mean so much more to me.

Having said that. Even the dog that pisses on the walls of Babylon shall face his judgement one day. So to the wank stained , blood clots that did such a weak hearted thing....... I hope you found no virgins but 7 fat pigs to lay with forever. No respect given to them from me.

Peace , Peace to whole world is my dream.

P. Dreadie

I'll never condone what those shitbags did, but you're statement illustrates perfectly why they did it. America's pissed up Babylon's walls and plenty of other people's as well. That's why they took a big dump in America's yard.
