Aji Limon

If anyone has some seeds they could spare/trade, I would appreciate it. I recieved some seeds awhile back, but 4 weeks in and nothing, no germination at all. I dug around on a couple seeds and they look like they did the day I sowwed them. They werent wet, but moist and kept at 80 degrees.

If it's the same as Hot Lemon then I have some to share as well. If it's not, I'm curious about it, tell me more! :D

Not the same pepper. Hot Lemon is an annuum and Aji Limon (and Lemon Drop) are Baccatum. Although I believe they are very similar in taste / heat.

I have several plants and seeds going. I always plant extra just in case and give the extra away if all my seeds sprout. Aji Lemon have a much better taste over Hot Lemon in my opinion. The go great with a pineapple and mango over and a bit of honey over grilled fish. One of my all time favorite peppers.

My Hot Lemon is a baccatum anyway! So I believe it's the same. Maybe you have an annuum named the same?

I knew it's also named Lemon Drop, but Aji Limon I was unsure about. Three names for same variety sure is confusing :)

Yes, the naming gets confusing. I grew the Hot Lemon last year and it was annuum. I never heard of it being refered to as a baccatum, but with the similarity in names, as well as the look I can see how it's easy to get all the naming mixed up. This year I'm growing Aji Limon so I'm looking forward to comparing the taste and heat differences.

Is an Aji Limo the same pepper as the Aji Limon / Aji Lemon Drop etc..???

From what I've seen, I believe Aji Limo is a chinense. Also the peppers have a different shape (stubbier and fatter) than Aji Limon. I'm pretty sure they're different.

hey captain. Here's a pic of the chinense "limo". I'm no expect on all these 'lemon' differences but to me it looks like the article you posted is really about the Aji Limon (the picture sure looks like it is). I looked up a bunch of stores that sell the Limo and they're all listed as Chinense. I've never experienced it first hand so who knows.

kiddc: you said it. Figuring out this 'Lemon' business is giving Naga Jolokia a run for it's money.

I have some Aji Limo seeds straight out of peppers from Peru if anyone is interested. Got them last October and just discovered them as I was organizing my seeds. Send me a PM.

Here's what I've come across over the years. Most of the baccatum types are very similar and I've never seen an annuum version. Also aji just really means pepper even though its most often used for baccatums

AJI LIMON (PERU YELLOW) = Baccatum
AJI LIMO = Baccatum
LIMO = chinense
limon = chinense
AJI LEMON DROP (PI 315024) = Baccatum
HOT LEMON = Baccatum
