Aji Limon

All Baccatum Flowers have gold in their petals.
I have/had
Aji Limon-Baccatum-chile pepper inst.
Limon - Chinense-Peppermania
Limon Grande-Chinense-Peppermania
Lemon Drop-Baccatum-Peppermania

The only similar looking one I had that was an Annuum was called Aji Yellow.
Didn't know there was an Annuum version.
But then again Aji Panca comes in Annuum , Baccatum and Chinense...

if your a scientist and you know what your doing then look at the leaves. the leaves should look and feel diffrent from other speicies. like pubescens have green fuzzy leavs and annuums have rough green or purple ones. chinenses have smooth green ones never grew many frutescens or baccutum before this year i am trying to stalk up on those. and cumari is a speicies of C. Preitermisum but i never grew this eather this year i am trying. i just know the flowers look like a plum trees. any more questions

I don't know about the telling by leaves but after growing them for a while you can usually tell by the plant's structure and then the flower are the dead give away

Aha, so the Aji Panca is a horse of many colors. I have a couple that need to flower to identify then. :?:

I'm not a scientist and I certainly don't know what I'm doing, but I'll take a look at the leaves all the same.

I guess that experience is the key, but out here we never know for sure what we have, at least initially, due to the ubiquitous 'mystery seed' factor that is prevalent in the enthusiasm of swapping. So you can learn all about the leaves on what you believe is a Bonda Ma Jacques, only to find a Caribbean Red when it fruits...

Gotta get trusty seeds...

There is actually several different types of Cumari, some are even chinense. I am not growing any of those, but do have the Cumari Pollux growing that is a Praetermissum.

I actually think that in Peru they call a lot of their brown podded peppers Aji panca.

The Aji Panca seeds braught back from Peru by a friend were Chinense.

They were from a Peru seed company there called Alabama and are Lima Peru.
It's like in Mexico a lot of Peppers are called Habanero this or that or _______Habanero even though they aren't Chinense.
Like the Habanero Arbol,it grows and looks like it should be a Baccatum but has no spots on the flowers.I think it may be a stable AnnuumXBaccatum.
Like Bhuts are Chinense XFrutescens...

Damn, I saw Alabama on those seed packs and got excited; then saw it was a Peruvian company.

Thanks for the info smokemaster, I'm growing an Aji Limo Rojo plant this year as well. It sure would be nice to be able to purchase seed packs like those here in the states. :)
