alkhall 2017

New Year's Eve.

Time to get the 2017 Glog started.

I am cutting back this year, probably 50 or less plants.

The list so far:

MOA SCOTCHBONNET FOR COMPETITION (JUANITOS & RFC)
VENEZUELAN TIGER (RFC)
BROWN LARGE SCORPION CROSS (MY OWN - F3)
DEVILS BRAIN (96STRAT)
BLACK BHUTLAH SCORPION (96STRAT)
UNREAPER (96STRAT)
MA WARTRYX (96STRAT)
CHOCOLATE REAPER SCORPION (96STRAT)
BBG7/NAGA (96 STRAT)

BELLS - To be determined, but at least four varieties.
JALAPENO - BIG GUY, Maybe one other.
ECUADORAN HOT LEMON CAYENNE - (Live plants from Burpee)

Holy mackerel, Al, you are really pulling in the heat.
No wonder the temps up here have cooled down a bit - the
heat is all going to your grow!

Well done, my friend!

Thanks guys.

While the plants, with the exception of the Cayennes, are not as large as they were last year, the pod production is fairly good so far.

I still have not picked any Red or Chocolate Bhut Jolokia, or any of the three Jay's Ghost Scorpion colors. Also have Bhutlahs and the Brown Large Scorpion cross getting close to being ripe.

More pics as I harvest, stay tuned.

If you have been following my glog, you may remember the Purple-leaved Big Black Mama. It really has not done well since going outside at the end of May. I noticed it just started making pods... purple pods.

There are two BBM plants in this container, the purple-leaved one, and a 'normal' one (see the pod in the background).

The little pods in the foreground are the purple-leaved plant.

That's some mighty fine pod porn.  What's the heat level like on the Chocolate Bhutlahs?

Thanks.

I only tried a couple flakes of one dried pod, Not too hot... not nearly what I would expect from one of the world's hottest peppers. I need to flake the entire batch and re-sample later.

I tried a couple flakes from the Chocolate King Naga as well. Very hot, instant burn, lasted fifteen minutes or so.

Plants are really beginning to produce, many more pics to follow.

Stay tuned.
